Adjustment/ Ages & Stages of Development Sometimes I feel really depressed, anxious, emotional and overwhelmed- What is normal? What can I do about it?
Know Thyself, -Socrates The desire to know the self, to reflect on and understand the thoughts and behavior of others is the foundation of psychology- a study of the mind.
Mental Health Perspectives What is Mental Health? What impact does it have? Who does it affect?
Why is it important for me to know about common psychological conditions and disorders? What are the most common disorders?
Depression Persistent low mood that is accompanied by low selfesteem and loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. Often includes symptoms of fatigue, weight loss or gain, insomnia, memory problems, and thoughts of self-harm.
Anxiety *Anxiety disorders are a group of mental disorders characterized by excessive feelings of anxiety and fear accompanied by three or more of the following symptoms: restlessness, fatigue, concentration problems, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep disturbance. *There are various forms of anxiety disorders. -Social Anxiety Disorder (Kristii)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
What is PTSD? Trauma & PTSD Who can experience it?

Good Mental Health Practices For Everyone
Personal Viewpoint What Do We See? A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside. "That laundry is not very clean; she doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap." Her husband looks on, remaining silent. Every time her neighbor hangs her wash to dry, the young woman makes the same comments. A month later, the woman is surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and says to her husband: "Look, she's finally learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this? " The husband replies, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows." And so it is with life... What we see when watching others depends on the clarity of the window through which we look.
Individual Psychology Lifestyle Mistaken Beliefs Striving for Superiority Superiority Goal "Whoever strives for personal superiority prevents his connection with the community. He does not seek integration with others but their subordination. With that, he naturally disturbs the harmony in life, in the society and among his fellow human beings.
Personality & Style of Life Why is it that my sister and I are so opposite? We were raised in the same house by the same parents with the same values? I always take on too many things and feel the pressure to achieve. I am also really hard on myself when things don t go as I planned why? Why does everyone need so much instruction to get things done? Just figure it out and do it already! Why is everyone so uptight? Just relax and go with the flow!
Birth Order
Nature Vs. Nurture How much of who I am comes from my birth order and the family environment I was raised in? How was that environment influenced by the way my parent s were raised and in turn- their parents? What are Intergenerational Patterns? How do they affect me?

He is the artist of his own personality, but as an artist he is neither an infallible worker nor a person with a complete understanding of mind and body; he is rather a weak, extremely fallible, and imperfect human being.
