Iso-inertial dynamometer A. Equipment set up B. Data acquisition and export C. Training mode 1 P a g e
A. Equipment set up 1. Connect all the devices as depicted below: 2. Launch the software by clicking on the icon T-FORCE system The following warning will pop up. Click OK. 2 P a g e
4. Go to Configuration, followed by Application Settings as advised. a. Edit the load b. Edit the time for data acquisition c. Set the calibration constant to (for this device, K= m.s^-1/v) d. Click SAVE (d) 5. The following window will pop up. Click OK. B. Data acquisition and export 1. Define the teams and athletes (subjects) to be tested. 3 P a g e
2. Input the details in these fields and then click Add. 3. To perform a new trial, click Test: New Performance. 4. New performance: a. Select the team and athlete (subject) to be analyzed b. Select the exercise from the panel on the right e.g. Squat (free weights) c. Click on TESTING MODE. 4 P a g e
5. Ensure that the transducer s cable is in complete rest. Then click INITIALIZE to load the test. 6. Hook the cable onto the weight bar. 5 P a g e
7. Click on TEST. 8. Once again, make sure the load, time and type of execution are correct. Examples of ECC + CON (eccentric followed by concentric phase) exercises: squats, bench press, CMJ. Examples of CON + ECC (concentric followed by eccentric phase) exercises: pull-up, prone bench press. 9. There are several other features that the user can enable such as audio counting the number of reps or the speed. The user can also predict the 1RM for bench press and squats. If the exercise is a jump, go to the Jump tab. After all the configurations are done, begin the test by clicking START. 6 P a g e
10. The user can monitor real-time parameters, such as displacement, speed, repetitions, and (d) others: MV Mean Velocity PeakV Peak Velocity MPV Mean Propulsive Velocity MPF Mean Propulsive Force MP Mean Power PeakP Peak Power MPP Mean Propulsive Power (d) 11. When data acquisition is completed, the following window will pop up. Click OK. 7 P a g e
12. The data will be displayed in the next window. The user may export data to excel by clicking on the Excel icon. The number in brackets is the best rep according to the criterion selected above. 13. This is the data exported to excel: Note: The file contains two sheets, one for each of the concentric and eccentric phase. 8 P a g e
14. To export the raw data at 1kHz, go to Numerical Analysis - Summary Tables (Sets & Repetitions. a. Select the team, athlete and performance b. Check the Detailed data each millisecond option c. Click Export to EXCEL d. Note: The user is able to export only the concentric or eccentric phase each time. To export the full cycle, this procedure should be done twice, once for each phase. (d) Note: There is one sheet for each rep. 9 P a g e
C. Training mode (for monitoring by athletes and coaches over training sessions) 1. Repeat steps 1 to 4 in Section B, but select the TRAINING MODE. 2. Set the execution type, sound, and load, time. Select two variables to be displayed over the training set. 3. A graph displaying the selected variables will be generated. In this case, power output and velocity have been chosen. Click OK, upon reaching the end of the set. 10 P a g e
4. Export the data to Excel and then SAVE it. 5. The user is also able to run some analysis. Go to Analysis followed by Graphical Analysis of Individual Curves. a. Select the team, athlete and performance b. Select the rep to be analyzed c. Select the phase to be analyzed: full cycle (both), only the concentric (CON) or the eccentric (ECC) phases d. Select the necessary variables to be displayed (d) 11 P a g e
