3 1. INTRODUCTION Congratulation for your purchase of the ANTELOPE. TANK-TOP. Now you are an official member of the ANTELOPE.CLUB. Before you can start with your training, please read this manual carefully. The ANTELOPE. TANK-TOP works with electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). This highly efficient and effective technology must be used responsibly. IMPORTANT: Please always refer to this user manual in order to avoid malfunctions and injuries Symbol Explanation:! The ANTELOPE system consists of: ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP Textile with integrated electrodes that connects with the BOOSTER via external cable ANTELOPE.2C-BOOSTER Booster provides the electrodes with the required power. The two channels (2ch) enable you to control two pairs of electrodes at the same time. ANTELOPE.APP Smartphone application that connects with the BOOSTER via bluetooth 2. 4 3. INTENDED USE 6.CONTRAINDICATIONS The device is intended to be used for electrical muscle stimulation. 4. INTENDED PURPOSE Antelope series stimulate the healthy muscles to improve performance of human body or general well being. It is intended to be used by healthy adults. 5. INDICATIONS The ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP is intended to stimulate healthy muscles in order to improve or facilitate muscle performance. It is to be used by adults only. Depending on the parameters of the electrical impulses (pulse frequency, duration of contraction, duration of rest, total session duration), different types of muscle work can be imposed on the stimulated muscles. Only use the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP when fully regenerated. Follow our workout instructions and do not work out with the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP too often. Before using the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP please consult a physician to make sure you are in good health and fit. The following points shall be taken into account. If one or even more of these apply to you, you must not use ANTE- LOPE.TANK-TOP for safety reasons: Cardiac pacemaker or other electrical implants Pregnancy Severe neurological, cardiovascular or tumour diseases The ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP shall not be used with serious disease (i.e. fever, infections, inflammations) Do not use the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP on injured skin Muscleache Muscles with spasms Muscles associated with a limb or afflicted joint! CAUTION One possible side-effect of unfamiliar and intensive training is damage to the muscle tissue. This comes with the partial loss of strength, delayed muscle soreness and a significant increase of muscle protein levels (e.g. creatine kinase levels) found in the blood. Especially after the first intense training sessions with the ANTE- LOPE.TANK-TOP there is a heightened risk of muscular damage. These problems shall not occur if you closely follow our workout instructions. The following points may indicate serious damage to the muscle tissue (rhabdomyolysis). If you find yourself displaying one of these symptoms please contact a physician: Brown urine Myalgia (severe muscular pain) Extreme swelling of the muscle 7. TECHNOLOGY The ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP is the evolution of the already proven EMS technology. The natural muscle contraction is supported by electrical impulses with this training method. A contraction is triggered by an external stimulus with the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP as well as with EMS. 4
5 8. SCOPE OF SUPPLY 8.1 ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP 8.2 ANTELOPE.2C-BOOSTER 8.3 Connecting Cable The cable connects the BOOSTER with the TANK-TOP. The end of the magnetic head needs to be attached to the corresponding counterpart on the TANK-TOP. The plug will be docked into the BOOSTER. The fabric of the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP consists of 54% polyamide, 36% polypropylene and 10% elastane. Each TANK-TOP includes tow integrated silicone electrode in the compression fabric. The textile aligns ideally to the body shape due to the elasticity of the fabric. Furthermore, due to the compression effect it can be ensured that the electrodes will not slip on your skin. A magnetic closure connects the textile with the ANTELOPE.BOOST- ER via cable. ANTELOPE.TANK-TOPs are only intended for the use of training your core muscles. The ANTELOPE.BOOSTER is the energy source. It triggers the electrical impulses which enhance the natural muscle contraction. It is connected to the ANTELOPE. APP via Bluetooth. With this app you can set the desired program settings before you start with your training. The impulse intensity can be regulated directly on the BOOSTER. An external cable connects the ANTELOPE. TANK-TOP with the BOOSTER. This device can control up to two muscle groups at one time and is compatible with other 2CH-products in ANTELOPE series. 8.4 Charging Cable The BOOSTER can be charged easily with a micro USB cable when it is plugged into a computer or laptop or with an adapter into an outlet.! CAUTION Please ensure that the outlet or any other power source is not stronger than one ampere before using a charger with it. 5
6 9. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE The ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP is equipped with electrodes placed on your abs and back. Cyclists, runners and athletes that train their strength with their own bodyweight are able to train their core while training. Strength athletes, too, greatly rely on their core stability to efficiently perform exercises with proper form. The system will be controlled by the ANTELOPE.APP through a smartphone or tablet. Please ensure that you have downloaded the app before you start your training. 9.1 Putting on the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP 1. Open the zippers of the TANK-TOP. 2. Put on the TANK-TOP and make sure that the electrodes lie flat on your skin without folds or wrinkles NOTE: The electrodes must be placed directly onto the skin. Excessive hair growth or extremely dry skin can affect the stimulation. 3. Close the zippers. NOTE: Ensure that the electrodes are placed directly on the targeted muscle. 6
7 9.2 Wiring TANK-TOP and BOOSTER 1. Attach both magnetic ends of the cable to the corresponding counterpart to the TANK-TOP. The cable ends are identical. You do not have to pay attention for right or left Program Connected Booster: 0 NOTE: You need to make sure that one cable is only used for the two electrodes of the same muscel group. warm up endurance strength Recovery Massage 2. Plug the other end of the cable into one of the two channels of the ANTELOPE.BOOSTER. NOTE: The BOOSTER consists of two channels (labelled on the device). Whether you use channel I or channel II will only be important in the next step. In the app you select the corresponding channel in which you plugged in the cable
8 9.3 Starting the ANTELOPE.APP and Connecting the BOOSTER 1. When you open the APP an info screen appears. Read the information and click next. 3. Now you are ready to unlock your potential! Please click start in order to begin to set up your training program.! CAUTION 2. Read this screen carefully as you need to make sure that you fulfill the health requirements. If so, please tick of the three points and click next. 4. On this screen you see an overview about the different workout programs you can choose from. But before you can start your workout, you need to connect your phone to the ANTELOPE.BOOSTER. Please click CONNECT TO BOOSTER in order to do so. 8
9 5. As soon as the new screen appears your phone starts scanning for devices. Now take your ANTELOPE.BOOSTER, press and hold the [+] button for three seconds until the LED light flashes green. Now the BOOSTER is switched on and the LED light begins to slowly flash blue. That is the sign that the device is searching for Bluetooth devices. 6. This screen has changed now. Instead of showing the CONNECT TO BOOSTER -button, you can now see to which BOOSTER your phone is connected. In order to decide which program you want to use please click the white info -button in the top right corner of the screen. You can see all available Bluetooth devices in the list. By clicking the device EMS-[your BOOSTER number] once you select your BOOSTER. After only a few seconds the number of your device will turn turquoise on your screen which means that your phone is now connected to your BOOSTER. Also the LED on your BOOSTER will now stop flashing blue and instead show a constant blue light. Now hit the arrow in the top left corner in order to go back to the program selection screen. 7. On this screen you are provided with an overview over the four different programs that you can use. Besides a short intro text about the purpose of the certain program and an explanation how to use it you also have access to the specific parameters the program uses. As soon as you decided for your favourite program, click the arrow in the top left corner of the screen to go back to the program selection screen. 9
10 8. Now click on the training program of your choice the two magnetic ends of one cable only for one muscle group. Please always increase the intensity slowly and check whether it starts to tingle your muscle. If it begins to feel uncomfortable please immediately decrease the intensity by either pushing the - button in the app or on the BOOSTER. After setting up the right intensity for your workout, you can click the reset button in order to start the time counter new and to be able to track the duration of your workout correctly. The intensity will not be affected by hitting reset as well as the stimulation will not stop during that process. 9. Now you arrived on your workout screen. Again you can see and check whether the number written on that screen matches the number on your device. As soon as you click the start -button the time starts running and the stimulation begins with an intensity of 1%. Only after pushing the start -button you can adjust the intensity of your workout by either pushing the + -button (in order to increase) or the - -button (in order to decrease) or pushing the same two buttons with the same effect on your ANTELOPE. BOOSTER directly. The chosen channel shows the current intensity compared to the maximum intensity in %. NOTE: By hitting the pause button you will not affect the intensity and when you continue the stimulation by pressing start again the stimulation will immediately continue on the same degree you used prior to the interruption. By pressing the arrow in the top left corner of the screen you stop your workout immediately and you go back to the program selection screen. You can adjust the intensity of both channels seperately. Please check which channel you connected with which electrode and again check whether you used 10
11 10. THE TRAINING PROGRAMS 10.1 Warm Up In order to optimally prepare for your training, we ve created this warm up program. This program can be used while you re moving or passively while you re sitting. Just 10 minutes with this low intensity program and you re ready to go. How to use this program: Exercises: loose movements, for example: 5 minutes light jogging (to get circulation going) 5 minutes mobilisation and dynamic stretching Suggested training time: 10 minutes before every training session After Warm Up: Use Strength or Endurance training program with your ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP. Parameters: Frequency: 60 Hz Impulse Width: 250 µs Impulse Type: constant impulse Strength of stimulation feels like: ca. 5/10 NOTE: This program is designed to prepare your body for an intense workout, so the stimulation intensity in general feels significantly lower than the intensity in the training programs Endurance 5km,10km or even a marathon no matter what your goals are, this training program will help you improve your endurance. The scientifically optimized stimulation parameters are set up to ensure that your movements won t be too strongly influenced by the stimulation. This allows you to continue your workout without compromising movement quality, enabling optimal adaptation. How to use this program: Exercises: Endurance training, primarily through walking/jogging/running Suggested training time: 10 minutes for the first 3 training sessions. After that, you can increase the training time each time you workout by 10 minutes until you reach a total of 60 minutes. Cool Down: relaxed jogging or walking without any stimulation (5-10 minutes), where appropriate followed by stretching. After using the Endurance program: Use the Recovery/Massage Program Suggested number of training sessions per week: depending on the intensity and duration, up to 4 training sessions are possible (as a general rule, every third to fourth workout should be conducted without electrical stimulation) Parameters: Frequency: 40 Hz Impulse Width: 400 µs Impulse Type: constant impulse Strength of stimulation feels like: ca. 6/10 NOTE: If you don t make it to your workout one day, you can use this program as an alternative, even just lying on the couch or sitting at your desk Strength You want to get stronger? You ve found the right program. The parameters in this program have been specifically developed to increase strength. The stimulation is optimized to support you during a home workout using your own bodyweight. How to use this program: Exercises: Bodyweight exercises, one or two repetitions during each impulse (Examples: Push ups, squats, planks, dips, etc.) Suggested training time: 10 minutes for the first 3 training sessions. After that, you can increase the training time each time you work out by 5 minutes until you reach a total of 20 minutes. This training should NOT be used for longer than 20 minutes. Cool Down: relaxed jogging or walking without any stimulation (5-10 minutes), followed by stretching. After using the Strength program: Use the Recovery/Massage Program Suggested number of training sessions per week: 1-2, max 3 11
12 Parameters: Frequency (using the SUIT): Hz, dependent on muscle group Impulse Width: 350 µs Impulse Type: constant impulse Strength of stimulation feels like: ca. 9/10 NOTE: Strength training with the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP is more intense than your normal workout. It is consequently important that you only begin this training when you are not already worn out from another training session. Parameters: Frequency: 60 Hz Impulse Width: 200 µs Impulse Type: 2,5 seconds stimulation, 1 second ramp up, no breaks! CAUTION DO NOT use this program at night while sleeping, since i.a. sleep quality can be affected Recovery/Massage After a strenuous workout or a long day, what s more relaxing than a massage? With this program you won t have to depend on someone else to loosen up your tight muscles. Depending on the intensity you set, the targeted electrical impulses simulate a regeneration-promoting sports massage or a soothing relaxation massage. How to use this program: Exercises: You don t need to move at all during this program. Lean back, get comfortable and enjoy the massage. Suggested training time: up to 30 minutes Suggested number of training sessions per week: max once per day Strength of stimulation feels like: ca. 3-6/10 12

USE OF THE ANTELOPE.BOOSTER NOTE: please fully charge the ANTELOPE.BOOSTER before initial use Switch on/off On: press and hold the [+]-button for three seconds Off: press and hold the [ ]-button for three seconds 11.2 Battery status Whilst charging the BOOSTER, the LED starts flashing a green light. Once you disconnect it from the charger, the LED switches off. When fully charged, the BOOSTER emits a green light when switching it on. The light will then turn blue to show that the BOOSTER is switched on now. Once the charging status drops under 20%, the LED starts flashing red Bluetooth Connection After switching on the BOOSTER and before connecting to a Bluetooth device, the blue LED flashes slowly. After connecting to the App via Bluetooth, the LED emits a constant blue light. The blue LED slowly flashes when the Bluetooth connection is lost. After being disconnected from a Bluetooth device for several minutes, the BOOSTER switches off automatically General Functions The impulse intensity is adjustable by pressing the [+/-]-button on the BOOSTER itself. By pressing [+] you increase the intensity of all channels by one unit By pressing [-] you decrease the intensity of all channels by one unit 11.5 Charging the BOOSTER The 2Ch-BOOSTER is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. While it takes about one hour to fully charge the BOOSTER, it provides you with enough energy to work out intensively for up to 15 sessions. You can charge the BOOSTER using the USB cable via your PC, laptop or the wall socket using a USB adapter. NOTE: before charging the BOOSTER please ensure that the outlet or any other power source is not stronger than one ampere. 12. FAQS: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS You have problems switching on the ANTELOPE. TANK-TOP? Check the following points: Is the BOOSTER charged? It needs to charge for at least one hour before being used. Do you use the right channel? Ch1 in the app targets the BOOSTER s plug I and Ch2 targets plug II. Is the BOOSTER connected to the TANK-TOP? Make sure that the magnetic heads are properly connected to the buttons placed on the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP. Are the electrodes placed correctly? Make sure that you put on the product according to the instructions (see corresponding chapter). The stimulation is uncomfortable. What can I do? Make sure that the electrodes are placed correctly and lie flat on your skin. In case you need to relocate the TANK-TOP switch off the BOOSTER first. You can try adding some moisture (water) to the black silicone electrode on the inside of the TANK-TOP to increase the conductivity. ATTEN- TION: switch off the BOOSTER first! Check if the magnetic heads are connected to the buttons placed on the TANK-TOP and if the cable is plugged into the BOOSTER. 13
14 Should I worry about skin redness and irritations? Minor redness after using the ANTELOPE. TANK-TOP or EMS in general is perfectly normal. It is mainly caused by increased blood circulation and should disappear within a couple of minutes after you take off the product. Another reason might be pressure marks caused by the tension. That is nothing to worry about. However, you should only wear the TANK-TOP while you use it. Severe irritation might derive from too high stimulation intensity. The next time you use the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP try to start at a lower level and slowly increase the intensity. Extreme redness might be caused by an allergic reaction to the material of the electrodes. If the skin redness does not disappear for several hours, please consult a physician before you use your ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP the next time. I have a prickling sensation in my extremities. Is that normal? Yes, it is, although only few people have that feeling. As the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP stimulate the larger nerves, too, which control your muscles. There is no problem with that as long as it does not feel uncomfortable. Does the product cause sore muscles? As with any intense muscular activity you can expect having sore muscles depending on the intensity and complexity of your workout. Since EMS stimulates the muscle more intensively, you might experience stronger soreness after the first sessions until you get used to working out with EMS. To get used to working out with the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP, please follow the instructions given in this manual. 13. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS! DANGER Please follow the safety instructions. Doing otherwise may cause damage to the device, expiry of your guarantee and injury. Store the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP out of the reach of children in order to prevent them from swallowing dangerous parts of the product You must not try to replace the battery pack yourself. Opening the BOOSTER yourself may cause damage and leads to expiry of your guarantee. Do not touch the electrodes with your fingers while operating your device. Do not use the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP while driving, operating machines or manual labour. Do not use the ANTELOPE.TANK-TOP in wet conditions such as heavy rain or snow, while bathing, showering or swimming. Never put the BOOSTER or the cables into the washing machine. The textile including the electrodes and the integrated cables are washable by hand. Your body needs to get used to the kind of stress it is exposed to when using EMS. Start at low intensities and slowly increase the power. Stick to the instructions given in this manual. While working out actively with the ANTELOPE. TANK-TOP always keep your muscles tense or keep moving. 14. CARE AND MAINTENANCE 14.1 Battery Life Store your BOOSTER in a cool, dry place. In case you do not intend to use the BOOSTER for a longer period of time, please make sure to charge it at least every six months. You must not try to replace the battery pack yourself. Opening the BOOSTER yourself may cause damage and leads to expiry of your guarantee Washing instructions The textile consists of 54% polyamide, 36% polypropylene and 10% elastane. It is washable WITHOUT the BOOSTER. To ensure maximum durability of the textile please follow the instructions: The textile is washable per hand (cold water). Please do not turn it inside out to avoid causing damage to the electrodes. Use of softener and bleach hinder moisture transport.! WARNING Do not put it in the dryer hang it up for drying. No ironing and no dry-cleaning. 14
15 15. DISPOSAL Products with an ANTELOPE logo must not be disposed with your household waste. Please dispose in compliance with statutory regulations. The equipment cannot be discarded with household refuse, but that it must be collected selectively. The equipment must be delivered to a suitable collection point. By doing so, you will be contributing to the safeguarding of natural resources and health. Batteries must be disposed of in compliance with relevant national regulatory requirements. 17. PACKAGING The following symbols are printed on the package or the user manual (colour and size may vary): By displaying the CE mark the manufacturer confirms that the product complies with all necessary requirements of the EU regulations. Conformity assessment procedures were completed, too. 18.
