17 Top Quotes Part I As a DACA student being able to speak to fellow DACA students who are currently enrolled in med school this allows for a bit of hope. Being able to have guidance from someone who has already walked the path you are only beginning is a great feeling. At this conference I was greatly inspired by the stories of successful physicians in the Latino community. Because they came from humble backgrounds and overcame hardships throughout their journey of completing their dreams of becoming a physician, I am motivated to continue my career path. I don't have anyone older than me to talk to me about their path in college and especially in a health related field. It was very motivational hearing all these amazing speakers and definitely reminded me of why I want to pursue a health related career. It reminds me of why we need more Latino physicians; why it's our duty to strive to becoming a health professional-- It's a journey to not only to serve the underserved, but also to reduce health disparities Speakers inspired me for not giving up and not afraid to succeed. I learned important information about application process, health care disparities and had Mock MMI Interviews.

18 Top Quotes Part II Without your help I wouldn't have been able to attend this conference. My dad has been unemployed for various months now so it would have been hard for him to allow me to go to this event with the small income that he currently has. Thank you for this wonderful resource. In 6 years of knowing of this event I never attended due to lack of funds and means of transportation. Attending LMSA made me realize that the healthcare career is right for me. There's so many disparities in health care that I had no idea about before attending this conference. As a first generation college student, I have learned the importance of connecting with like minded students to learn and follow their footsteps as guidance. I found myself enlightened and surrounded by a population that believes in my potential and urges me to become a physician in order to serve my community.
