3 STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATES Greetings! 2017 may well go down as one of the worst for Montanans in need. State budget cuts to essential services for low-income families will have long-term ripple effects. While Mountain Home advocated to create alternative solutions, we succeeded only in reducing the severity of some of the proposed cuts. To come up with our own alternative solutions, we turned to you. THANK YOU for jumping in with support ranging from diapers to dollars. Because of YOU, we sustained our critical services services and even moved forward on our ambitious strategic plan to serve more, serve better, and serve securely. For example, we provided 30% more families with basic needs and therapeutic care. We refined our model to provide more trauma-sensitive care, increasing a sense of responsibility and cooperation among the clients. And we garnered gifts and pledges totaling $360,000 towards our $380,000 mortgage. We aim to finish the remaining $20,000 by the end of 2018 and own our own home! We ve still got a lot of work ahead to recover from the horrible-no-good-very-bad budget cuts, but we re taking a lesson from the moms and kids we serve: resilience overcomes adverse experiences. To provide a safe home and nurturing community where young mothers discover their strengths and children thrive. what we do Mountain Home Montana provides shelter for young mothers who need a place to live and a network of support as they create safe, stable, and nurturing homes of their own.

5 PROGRAMS AND SERVICES Mountain Home interrupts cycles of poverty, abuse, and neglect by empowering young mothers. Here is how: Basic needs 7 bedrooms in group living home Five independent living apartments 15,330 healthy meals Access to prenatal and early-childhood healthcare Baby clothes, diapers & wipes critical services Outpatient support before, after, and sometimes instead of residential care On-site mental health therapy 20 hours per week of drop-in childcare 2,100 hours of case management 24/7 residential care life skills Individualized education and employment services 194 life skills classes 45 participants used community center per month (including fathers, family and friends) Evidence-based parenting classes

6 IN 2017 WE SERVED 151 YOUNG MOMS & CHILDREN 30% increase from 2016 Mountain Home moms work hard to give their children the safe, stable and nurturing homes that most never had themselves. In 2017: 43% had been part of foster care system as children 70% had been homeless before they came to Mountain Home 85% had a history of substance abuse in their family 63% graduated from group home to safe and stable housing 100% families connected with early childhood education 5 healthy babies born in our in-house program 87% employed and/or pursuing education
