Partnered with 2,500 member organizations, serving 10 million adults, children and families living with mental illnesses and addictions. Instrumental in bringing Mental Health First Aid to the USA and more than 500,000 individuals have been trained.

5 National Council-AmeriCares Partnership In any given year, 43 million people in the U.S. experience mental illness and nearly 10 million people have a serious mental illness such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. Many of these individuals go without access to life saving medication. AmeriCares plans to support at least 175 behavioral health safety net providers over the next three years with at least $40 million worth of high-quality psychiatric medicine.
