The official celebration of the anniversary in Area 09, CA, was a success. Also Area 46, NM, Area 49, NY, Area 67 and 68, TX, celebrated with their event. Area15, FL, will join next year. 2 In this Edition Some of the articles we publish in this issue are well known, such as the article by Bill W., What Is Our AA Grapevine?, first published in Less common is the article written by one of our first class A custodians, Fulton Oursler, originally published in the second issue of the Grapevine. Oursler was a brilliant journalist who spent much of his life supporting the work of Alcoholics Anonymous. In "Butterfly Wings" eloquently describes his close relationship with alcoholics. Anniversary Report La Viña grows from coast to coast! The California Area 09 celebration resulted in 671 new subscriptions gathered as part of the event registration, after the event budget was reconciled, additional 154 subscriptions were purchased to be send to other areas/or institutions. In Area 46 of New Mexico 11 subscriptions were gathered in an event that laid the foundation for future workshops and activities with La Viña. A similar event organized by Areas 67 and 68 intexas gathered 7 subscriptions. The interest and support for the magazine continues to grow, next year will be the official event in Las Vegas and Area 15 in Florida will join with their own event. La Viña in the XLI National Hispanic AA Convention Each year La Viña participates with great enthusiasm in this massive event. On Saturday, August 31, the editor of La Viña will share in the opening ceremony about the importance and the future of the magazine. We invite all members to attend the event and join us at our workshop,workshop # 8, to visit our display table and seize this great opportunity to show your support by subscribing. What is the path to self-support? After the last General Service Conference, La Viña and the Hispanic community in AAhave renewed their efforts toward self-support. In addition to subscribing to the magazine, the community has focused on three activities: Strengthening the presence of La Viña committees at statewide and national hispanic conventions national. 2

3 Assist sisters Hispanic districts to set up their LV committees and elect La Viña representatives in each group. Working alongside corrections committees of English language groups to ensure that subscriptions or single issues of La Viña reach the jails in our regions. The Magazine did not Arrive? Remember to include a contact or website address, the date of the event, and the city, state or country where the event will take place. We do not publish names of hotels or private phone numbers. Visit our website: aagrapevine@org/espanol Events in your district La Viña Workshops Workshops in the digital age: Share and learn with the membership the effective and economical ways of communication between alcoholics in AA: organize a workshop with information on how to use the website of La Viña and how to receive information through your . Learn to convey the message of recovery and hope using your smartphone, tablet or computer. Service Does your district have a La Viña committee? Does your group have a La Viña representative? How to create a La Viña committee? Find out if your district has a La Viña committee and if it does, you can propose an event to celebrate and honor our magazine. Share the experience, strength and hope of your LV committee at a district level with other areas. Check with your district and establish communication with other committees in the country. 3
