2 The Cookstown Locality Group was launched in 2005 since then the locality Group has achieved: Secured funding from the Cookstown LSP for a project worker for one year. The project worker compiled an audit of need Close links with the Disability Forum and Youth forum provided increased opportunities for young people and young people with a disability to have a voice in the planning services Funding was secured through the family support fund for the Cultural Integration Project and the Youth Included project Relationships and networking that takes place within the group Communications and joined up approaches that is gained from being a member of the locality partnership. Workshop held with presentation from David Gilliland CAMHS now has an outreach project working in Cookstown Joined up work in Moneymore The Youth Included Group Produced a DVD called Civic Reception took place in 2010 which was supported by the council to celebrate the young people involved in the youth included project Globe training delivered through the G-OLD SureStart Presentation from Jack Gault (Bushmills Locality Group) and Mervyn Greer (The Den) about the development and running of the Den Drop-in in Bushmills Engagement work carried out on an on-going basis with Community groups, youth group etc. to involve them in the planning process

3 SWARD funding application was successful which will bring youth services and therapeutic mental health services to rural areas of Cookstown and Magherafelt Presentations from Denise Doherty and Judith Lees Cultural Integration Project- Young People developed a Mosaic Launch of the The One World Mosaic in Cookstown Leisure Centre and multi-cultural workshops The young people in the Youth Included Project produced a second DVD- Safebook. National Children s Cultural Competency Training hosted by G-OLD SureStart. The Disability Forum attended a Residential. This is the second Action Plan produced by the Cookstown Locality Partnership. It is based on the six outcomes set out in Our Children and Young People - Our Pledge - a ten year strategy for children and young people in Northern Ireland (OFMDFM). Each objective includes the cross cutting themes of rural isolation, disability and ethnicity.

6 Sexual Health BH ELA LSS EE CP LSR Education This partnership will raise awareness of the dangers and consequences involved in risk taking behaviour BH ELA LSS EE CP LSR Statistical Data At NI level rates of chlamydia (334/1000 in 2009) and herpes (49/1000 in 2009) are increasing year on year in the year old population. This figure is broken down into 180 million of direct costs such as Police, Criminal Justice, Health & Social Services, Housing, Civil Legal & Legal Aid. An additional 500 million is attributed to intangible costs associated with pain and suffering To respect diversity, support lobbying and develop partnerships BH ELA LSS EE CP LSR Statistical Data: In 2010/2011 there were 10 incidents with a racist motivation in Cookstown Since 2009/10 there has been 10incidents with a homophobic motivation in Cookstown. In Cookstown in 2010/11 there were 25 incidents with a sectarian motivation. - Community groups identified bullying as an issue, also issues of sectarianism, and safety needs of disabled children and young people Link with Sean McElhatton and the work he does.
