Social Events - Eid and Iftar functions in Canary Wharf Eid in the Wharf is an annual event bringing together Muslims and non-muslims to celebrate the occasions of Eid al-fitr and Eid al-adha. Attended by hundreds of leading professionals from Canary Wharf and performers and speakers from around the world, this is an event not to be missed! Matrimonial Service Twice in a year (one in summer and one in winter) we organise the Canary Wharf Muslim Marriage Event for professionals looking for a spouse in a halal environment and it usually held 2 / 5

It is usually managed by the Islamic Circles - Muslim Marriage Events team [ Courses Teaming with leading providers we organise courses in Classical Arabic, Mandarin, Tajweed, other Islamic courses and professional development seminars. Supplementary School - Managed by ICSS [ Held every Mondays between 5.30pm pm at the Clifford Chance Headquarters, 10 Upper Bank Street, Canary Wharf, London E14 5JJ. This supplementary school aims to get Muslim professionals to give back to society by volunteering their time to coach children from years 7 to year 11 in mainstream National Curriculum subjects in Maths, English and Science. Children come from nearby poor estates, from all races and religions and our professionals act as postive role models in society. We are always looking for volunteers who can share their knowledge, time and expertise with us and the children. Please contact Zafar on or school@wharfma.com. Any contribution and committment on a Monday evening is valued be it weekly, monthly or else. 3 / 5

4 Mentoring and Education Working with Tower Hamlets College, we offer a mentoring scheme providing support to the students of our local community Mentoring is a proven way to increase the performance and fulfil the potential of mentees and help young people and students in particular to raise and realise their aspirations. Whether it's talking to someone in their chosen fields, harnessing their resources to pursue their goals, or gain useful insight on career choices, mentees can benefit greatly from the scheme. There is a huge range of benefits for mentors as well: encountering challenges you otherwise wouldn't in the work environment; developing transferable skills that are directly relevant to the workplace; being a role model; increasing awareness, and giving back to the local community. Mentors can make a huge difference to building a strong and secure future for the local community. What mentees at Tower Hamlets College has said about WharfMA mentors: Zafrin Begum (GNVQ Intermediate Business student) "...the person was a perfect role-model...from his behaviour, status and qualifications, also from his vast knowledge." Ahmed Ali (A Level Economics, Law and Communication Student) "My mentor helped me to manage my time more effectively and to develop study skills which helped me improve my marks." Shafiqul Islam (A Level Maths, Computing and Law) "Mentoring has been very useful in helping me decide what I would eventually like to do in the future." What it involves: *Meeting your mentee for one hour every month, where they will be able to discuss academic work, career aspirations etc. 4 / 5

5 *Full training and on-going support from the Mentoring Coordinator. *At least 6 months commitment to the scheme. Who can be a Mentor? Mentors can come from a wide variety of backgrounds; they need to be focused and have a positive attitude towards raising aspirations and achievements. Then MENTORING IS FOR YOU!!! To apply mentoring@wharfma.com For more information please contact: Sadia: : sadia@wharfma.com 5 / 5
