I would like to thank you and all the staff from the NCoBC, as my participation in the event was extremely important. The meeting helped me to focus on how I can build a breast care center of excellence. The following is a list of objectives that I will pursue: Obtain accreditation of our center by the NAPBC. The leadership track at the meeting helped me to focus on how to build a team and proceed with the accreditation process. Develop quality measures at our center. I may start enforcing some of the measures used by NQMBC. Develop a genetic counseling program. I will pursue the telemedicine idea brought up at the meeting. Again, I would like to thank you for initiating the international delegate sponsorship program. I hope for the program to continue and develop more and more. 11 Date: April 7, 2014 Dear Dr. John Keyserlingk, It was a great privilege for me to be invited for the NCBC s 24th Annual Interdisciplinary Breast Center Conference in Las Vegas, March 15-19, 2014, as the recipient of one of the NCBC 2014 International Delegate Annual Conference Awards. The Conference proved to be a great platform to learn, interact and understand the present day scenario of the breast care with a 360 degree perspective. The International Delegate Program offered a global view, to understand and share the International scenario from the vantage point of individual country s representatives, with their diverse socioeconomic profiles, culture and demography. It was a window to the world for all the participants. North American medical protocols and facilities are held at a very high esteem across the globe and it was the right platform for bilateral exchange of experience on breast care and to form strategy for the best possible outcome for the international health personnel. For us, the International Delegates, it was a chance to learn the new trends and techniques in present day breast care from the experts from North America as well as to represent the challenges we face and the strategies we adopt in our own countries. It was an academic feast. I came to know about the latest diagnostic and management protocols and got immensely benefitted from the hands-on training in the pre-conference workshops. The exchange of ideas among the International Delegates was very rewarding too. I could present the challenges at my end with proposed strategies in front of the International medical community through my poster and the talk with power point presentation. The meeting with the International Liaison Committee and the opportunity to interact closely with the Directors in the arranged dinner helped me to discuss the problems at an individual level within a very conducive and friendly environment. The appreciation and advice would benefit me immensely and galvanize me with renewed enthusiasm in executing the planned strategies in my country. This would not have been possible unless I received the grant from NCBC to attend the Conference at Las Vegas. The Conference enriched me, but I felt the need for an interactive session for a longer duration (two to three weeks), preferably with one of you at a multidisciplinary breast center with regular tumor board presentation, to learn and understand new techniques and the latest approach in breast care. When the topic of Mini Fellowship was discussed in the ILC meeting, I felt this could be the best way for an International Delegate from a developing country, like me, to get the necessary exposure and learn the techniques firsthand from experts and implement them in my country. I would look forward to such kind of Fellowship Program. I am thankful to you and your team for the warm welcome and personal care. Though it was my first visit to the USA, I never felt out of my home. I would look forward to a life-long association with you and NCBC at large. I expect to meet you all again on future NCBC events.
