1 HOW ALKALINE WATER CAN BENEFIT YOUR HEALTH Your body runs on electricity (electrons) this is where you obtain energy from. Plants and vegetables are very high in electrons especially green grasses and vegetables such as wheatgrass, barley grass, broccoli, parsley, spinach, cucumber, sprouts and many more. Alkaline ionized water is also high in electrons. These vegetables and grasses trap energy from the sun through the process of photosynthesis which occurs in the chlorophyll of the plant (the green part (chloro = green; phyll = leaf)) chlorophyll is know as the blood of the plant and is almost identical in molecular structure to the human red blood cell; therefore it can be used to build new red blood cells. Energy from electrons can be transferred to you by eating electron rich foods and drinking alkaline water. When you think about it we are kind of solar powered. Your health is dependant on the health of your red blood cells and the alkaline fluid they are bathed in. Everything in your body is made from red blood cells, including skin, bone, eyes, organs; even the white blood cells are made from red blood cells. Healthy red blood cells should be even in size and shape and round and separate from each other like the picture below. The red blood cells have a negative electrical charge on the outside to repel each other so as they don t crash into each other. This electrical charge can be striped off the cell by acids from bad diet and lifestyle causing cells to clump together as below: Red blood cells need to go into fine capillaries single file, some capillaries are one tenth the thickness of a human hair; if cells are stuck together they simply can t get to 1 Copyright 2007 Phillip Burton
2 where they need to go to deliver nutrients and oxygen. This is why eyes are one of the first areas people have trouble with as the capillaries to the eye are so fine. The red blood cells (from here on referred to as RBC s ) need to be bathed in an alkaline fluid known as plasma, this fluid needs to be alkaline at a ph of 7.365; this is as critical as body temperature and like body temperature if it went too low you would die. If the blood ph drops slightly the environment or terrain of the blood stream becomes more conducive to microforms such as yeast and bacteria and the cells can appear odd shapes as below: Red blood cells that have been effected by acids. These microforms excrete their own acidic wastes known as exotoxins and mycotoxins polluting your blood stream. Acidic wastes can be eliminated from the body in four ways- urination, defecation, perspiration and respiration (breathing). People these days tend to be very acidic as they eat acidic foods like sugar, soft drinks, meats, dairy and processed foods and stress is also very acidifying. If acids are not eliminated properly they build up in the tissues over the years and eventually tenderise or decay tissue from inside out leading to irritation then inflammation, ulceration and eventually sickness and disease. Below is a picture of healthy dry blood. Healthy dry blood 2 Copyright 2007 Phillip Burton
3 Below is a picture of dry blood from a cancer patient The white areas are areas of damage caused by acids Your body produces acids as a by-product of energy consumption; just like your car produces acid waste from the exhaust after burning fuel. The difference is that your body needs energy to run 24hours 7 days a week. Normally your body could deal with the acids if you were eating an ideal diet, exercising enough but not overexercising and didn t live a fast paced stressful lifestyle. The reality is most people don t exercise enough and eat far too many acidic foods and drinks and are not eliminating acids properly. I believe this is why 50% of people are overweight, 50% of people will get heart disease and one in three females and 50% of men will develop cancer in their lifetime. One of the best ways I have personally found very beneficial in washing acids from the body is through the use of a water alkaliser/ioniser such as the Jupiter Alphion or Melody. These machines change the molecular structure of the water; Using electrolysis these machines get rid of a lot of the hydrogen ions (the acidic part) increasing the oxygen percentage and antioxidant effect of the water. The water is also microclustered making the molecules smaller and more easily absorbed by the body. But the most important benefit is the ph is increased to a ph of 10 which is one thousand times more alkaline than neutral. 3 Copyright 2007 Phillip Burton
4 Most of the water on the planet is becoming more and more acidic as it becomes more and more polluted. Don t forget we never get more water it s just recycled. I have personally tested reverse osmosis, distilled, tap, tank and bottled water and found them all acidic. Melbourne water tested 6.0 which is 10x more acidic than neutral. Seven is neutral and below 7 is acidic, the ph scale is logarithmic meaning that 6 is 10x more acid than 7, five is 100x more acidic than 7, four is 1000 times more acidic than 7. A popular bottled water tested at ph 5 which is 100x more acid than neutral. Although reverse osmosis water is very clean it is usually always acidic and distilled water is also very clean and should be ph neutral but can absorb hydrogen ions from the air making it acidic. The picture below is of dry blood with parasites in it. The parasites are the black blobs and can be ingested from pets or animal products but often from tank water. I believe that even if people don t change their diets and lifestyles but could do one thing for their health then the best thing they could do for their health would be to consume alkaline water. At the very least it is going to offset some of the acids from bad diet. Phil burton is a live and dry blood analyst and health coach.
