December 13 th, The Prime Minister, in his closing speech to the Etats généraux de l alimentation announced the launch of the National Nutrition Health Programme (PNNS). January 31th, Health Ministry: presentation of the PNNS 4 National Nutrition Health Programme «PNNS» ( ) 2005) The National Nutrition Health Programme (PNNS) has a general objective to improve the state of health of the whole population by acting on one of its major determinants, namely, nutrition May 31th, Strategic Comitee of the PNNS (dossiers: Nutrition) 5 Programme National Nutrition-Santé (PNNS) (dossier: Nutrition) Principles Dietary choice is a matter of free choice and food,, a pleasure, Citizens have the right to correct and understandable scientific information, The programme s actions are aimed at promoting health protection factors (+++) and reducing pathological risk factors, Each action should favour obtaining at least one of the nutritionnal objectives and not go against them objectives on dietary intake consumption of fruits and vegetables: the number of «low consumers» of fruits and vegetables by at least 25 % consumption of calcium by 25 % the population having Ca intake < RDA + by 25 % the prévalence of vitamin D deficiency, the average contribution of total fat intake to less than 35 % of daily energy intake + of 1/4 in the consumption of saturated fatty acids (< 35 % of total food intake), consumption of carbohydrate so that they contribute more than 50 % of daily energy intake, by the consumption of starchy carbohydrate, and of 25 % consumption of simple sugars, and by consumption of dietary fibres by 50 %, alcool intake among those who consume alcoholic drinksr (<20 g/d of pure alcool ). 6 strategies / 5 ans ( ) 2005)
