3 esson 11: uperfoods hen you look outside and see strong trees, and big mountains, birds that fly, and beautiful skies, do you ever stop to think about how amazing nature is? he natural world certainly seems to know a thing or two about how to keep everything alive and well. he same is true for our food. he best vitamins and nutrients and enzymes that we can eat come from nature, not from science.

4 o you take vitamins? hen was a child, remember taking lintstones vitamins. ow my nieces and nephews take ummy ear vitamins. hile people take these kinds of vitamins in order to be healthy, we should remember that they're still not as good for you as the vitamins that are naturally present in whole, real foods. hy is that? ecause they're man-made by scientists! or the past fifty years or so, grocery stores and health food stores have been full of man-made vitamins and minerals that we can take as pills. he problem with taking all these man-made vitamins is that the best vitamins and minerals are found in the foods we eat as long as we didn't put them there. ur bodies cannot use the man-made vitamins as well as they can use the natural ones. ather than taking vitamins and other supplements, it is a much better idea to eat healthy, real foods, and also to eat superfoods. hat are superfoods? uperfoods are foods that contain huge amounts of good vitamins and minerals. hey're a much better way to get the vitamins and minerals you need. o name a few, you can eat fermented cod liver oil, high vitamin butter oil, acerola powder, wheat germ oil, spirulina, organ meats or extracts, and nutritional yeast, among others. ach one of these puts some important and essential vitamins and minerals into your body that might be difficult to find and eat. or example, fermented cod liver oil is an excellent thing to eat during the winter because it has a lot of vitamin in it. uring the summer you can get plenty of vitamin by spending at least twenty minutes every day at lunchtime in the sun without sunblock. our body can make vitamin on your skin! ut in the winter there is much less sun, so taking ermented od iver il can help. hat's what superfoods are for!
