Postdoctoral Fellow, Psychotherapy Research Program, ( ) Supervisor: J. Christopher Muran, Ph.D. Beth Israel Medical Center I collaborate on an NIMH-funded study of the additive effect of specialized training in management of the therapeutic alliance on process and outcome of CBT for patients with personality disorders. I am also leading the development of an observer-based measure of alliance ruptures and resolution processes, and I am coleading an effort to apply novel statistical methods to traditional alliance measures in order to detect rupture and resolution processes. In addition, I am collaborating on efforts to identify therapist skills that are essential for rupture resolution, and to examine whether they predict treatment outcome. Intern, Psychotherapy Research Rotation Beth Israel Medical Center ( ) Supervisor: J. Christopher Muran, Ph.D. I collaborated on a research project to identify prototypical therapeutic ruptures in brief relational, brief psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral therapies. We conducted a qualitative analysis of rupture descriptions provided by patients using a coding system based on a prior cluster analysis of patient narratives. Graduate Research Assistant Stony Brook University ( ) Advisor: Marvin Goldfried, Ph.D. I collaborated on research projects, journal articles, book chapters, and conference presentations on the integration of different
9 Catherine F.
