The main purpose of the study was to find out the relationship of various Personality Traits (Introvert, Extrovert and Ambivert) with creativity of S.G.B.A.U Amravati. Total fifty Subjects (50) were selected for the present study from inter collegiate players of S.G.B.A.U Amravati. The data pertaining to the study was collected through Personality Traits (Introvert, Extrovert and Ambivert) by standard Questionnaire developed by Rekha Agnihotri and creativity through Baqer Mehdi. The age group was ranged from years. The subjects were selected by using simple random sampling method. In this study data were analyzed and interpreted with the help of statistical term Product Moment Correlation for testing of hypothesis. There was a positive relationship of the total personality traits with creativity of sports persons, Ambivert and Extravert are having positive relationship with creativity of sportspersons and there is negative relationship of introvert with creativity. TANUJA S. RAUT Introduction : Psychologically speaking personality is all that a person is. It is the totality of one's behaviour towards oneself and others as well. It includes everything about the person, his physical, emotional, social, mental and spiritual makeup. It is all that a person has about him. Personality is covered with the 'social stimulus value' of the individual behaviour, attributes and qualities or with conceptions of one's self which differentiate one human being from other personalities the entire organization of the individual at each stage of his life. Traits like imagination, ambition or perseverance may be found in many people but it is in relation to other abilities and environment opportunities that they develop and influence life and behaviour. Personality is the way be affected others. Personality is distinctive or unique. It is continually changing and growing people may acquires and develop in the course of his life and experience. Growth takes place by reorganization and integration of new experience and behaviour in the total system. Disposition refers to habitual tendencies inherited or previous experience and term character is inter changeably with personality. Moral and ethical term involving judgments of good and bad. Personality is mental organization of a human being at any stage of his development. The human being is a completely integrated functioning unit as a complete whole is separates the physical from the mental or leads to a dualistic interpretation of the facts of human existence cannot be accepted to us. Personality is related to his system reaction and reaction possibility in total as viewed by follow members of society. It is the sum total of behaviour trends manifested in his social adjustment. Human personality does not exist unless there are other individuals to react to the individual and to whom he may respond or surround him by a system of reactions and behaviour. Personality traits 'a mode of behaviour'. It is the some particular quality of behaviour such cheerfulness or self-reliance, which characterized the individual in a wide range of his activities and it fairly consistent over a period of time. A person who is cheerful and self-reliant or gloomy and hesitant, does not indicate that he is the sum total of gloominess and hesitancy or cheerfulness and reliance but is more than these. Total personality is a sum of traits with the differences that personality is more than sum of qualities. Personality Dimensions : Instead of trying to sort people into types, trait theories assume that a personality can be described by its position on a number of continuous dimensions or scales, each of which represents a trait. Thus, we could rate an individual on a scale of intelligence, Neuroticism (emotional stability), aggressiveness, creativeness, or any of a number of other dimensions. A trait, then, refers to any Assistant Professor, P.G.T.D of Physical Education (S.G.B.A.U. Amravati), Amravati (Maharashtra) Research Link - An International Journal Vol - XIV (11) January

2 characteristic in which one individual differs from another in a relatively permanent and consistent way. When we informally describe ourselves and others by such adjectives as friendly, cautious, excitable, intelligent, or anxious, we are using trait terms. Creativity : No nation whether big or small can afford to overlook the importance of creativity in this age of competition. Who survives this competition largely depends upon its creative minds. The creative acts affect enormously not only scientific and technological progress, but society in general. The nations who learn best how to identify, encourage and develop the creative potential in their people may find themselves in very advantageous position. On the contrary, the nations that are still underdeveloped are rather differently motivated towards the identification and development of this rare talent. Although creativity has been a topic of some interest throughout man's history, but it is only very recently when efforts were made to study it scientifically. Prior to 1950, there were only trickle of research articles on creativity. The Russian threat in technological advancement was probably the immediate reason for American scientists to sensitize the need of creativity in technological competition. Most psychological researchers generally agree that all persons have some creative potential, though there are wide individual differences in degree. Lowenfeld (1959) distinguished between actual creativity and potential creativity, the former being that potential which is already developed and functioning, the latter including the total creative potential (both developed and undeveloped) within an individual. Creativity has long been recognized as an intellectual talent of great individual worth and social usefulness. However, it has often been confused with intelligence. In literature, through, the two terms carry different meanings but still then there has always been considerable interest in the relation between creativity and intelligence. Assumption is that both being of the same category of mental life, intelligence being a more general and broader term then creativity. Unfortunately, psychologists are in basic disagreement on the meaning of the intelligence. One point of disagreement is whether intelligence is to be conceived as capacity or ability. Most of those who use the term capacity or potentially in defining intelligence convey their belief that intelligence is invate, inborn or untaught. Those who use the term ability, on the other hand, do not commit themselves on the question of source intelligence and that they would argue that we observe is ability and that we cannot observe and record potentiality unless it has developed into some kind of performance. Progress in fostering the creativity of our children will be obtained most effectively if we understand that we must simultaneously progress in the preparation of the individual, from both an intellectual and an emotional point of view, and in the provision of stimulating climate. Methodology : The main purpose of the study was to find out the relationship of Various personality traits(introvert, Extrovert and Ambivert) of sports person with creativity. For this purpose researcher had selected subjects from Inter collegiate Player team game players of S.G.B. Amravati University. For the collection of data 50 subjects were randomly selected for the present study. The data pertaining to the study was collected from standard questionnaires for both Creativity and Personality. Personality will be measured by the standard questionnaire designed by Rekha Agnihotri (Gupta) contain 60 items. Out of the 70 items 60 implying good discriminative power, were selected for the final form of the inventory has 60 items- 30 pertaining to an introvert's characteristics and 30 to an extrovert's characteristics. Scoring system is very easy. Extrovert responses are considered to be correct. One mark is awarded for each correct response. After checking the responses of the subject from Table subject's score is calculated by the following formula:-score obtained=no of correct responses-no. of incorrect responses. The subject obtains a plus score when the No. of correct responses exceeds that of the incorrect one's he gets a minus score when the No. of incorrect responses exceeds that of the correct ones. If the subject's score ranges between-15 and +15 he/she is said to be an Ambivert. If the score is above +15 he/she is said to an extrovert; and if the score is below-15 he/she is said to be an introvert. Creativity will be measured by the standard questionnaire designed by Baqer Mehdi (non-verbal test of creativity).the questionnaire is set of three sections:- Section first is only 2 activities, Section second is only 10 activities and Section three only 14 activities. As there is no right or wrong responses for the test, much care has to be exercised at the time of scoring. The test user has to acquaint him fully with the method of scoring and the use of scoring sheet. The following points have to be kept in mind while scoring the test: Each item is to be scored for elaboration and originality. Only the items in Activity 3 may be scored for fexibility. Scoring, however, is optional. The age group was ranged from years. The subjects were selected by simple random sampling method. The raw data were converted into standard one by using a statistical technique Product Moment Correlation for testing of hypothesis. Statistical Analysis and Interpretation of Data : In this study data were analysised and interpreted with the help of statistical technique Product Moment Correlation. Level of Significance : To test the hypothesis, the level of significant was set at 0.05 level of confidence which was considered adequate and reliable for the purpose of this study. Finding : The data collected on 50 subjects was analyzed by Applying Product Moment Correlation. Research Link - An International Journal Vol - XIV (11) January

3 Table I : Inter Correlation Matrix of Male Sports Persons Extrovert Introvert Ambivert Personality To check the validity of the hypothesis correlation of all the observed values shown in the inter correlation matrix was calculated. The calculated 'r' was found (0.747), which is greater than tabulated 'r' (0.396) at 0.05 level of significance. This indicates or shows that there is a significant Relationship of Personality Traits (Introvert, Extrovert and Ambivert) of Sports Person with Creativity. From the above given table after doing it's minutely observation, it is clear that the relationship of Extrovert with Creativity (0.785) is High, Introvert with Creativity ( ) is Negligible, Ambivert with Creativity (0.540) is Moderate, Creativity with Personality (0.747) is High. Testing of Hypothesis : In the light of above results, it was found that the assumption made by the researcher was partially correct in beginning. It was hypothesized that there was a significant difference in the personality of sports persons. It was hypothesized that there was a significant difference in the creativity of Introvert, Extrovert, and Ambivert of sports persons. Hence the researchers' hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion : For the study, personality traits and Creativity were Tabulated Creativity Graph 1 : A Graph Showing Relationship of Introvert, Extrovert And Ambivert with Creativity of Male Sports Persons Table 2 : Summary of the Inter correlation Matrix S. For the collection of data the researcher administered the Rekha Agnihotri (Gupta) 'personality trait' for personality variables and Baqer Mehdi for the Creativity. On the basis of the result drawn with the mentioned methodology the following conclusions were soughed out:- There was a positive relationship of the total personality traits with creativity of sports persons, Ambivert and Extravert are having positive relationship with creativity of sportspersons and there is negative relationship of introvert with creativity. The conclusion of this research work may aware the players as well as the sedentary individuals about the importance of personality traits with creativity.
