5 CLINICAL WORK The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University; Psychology Resident Alcohol and Drug Partial (ADP) Inpatient Program at Butler Hospital 6/ /2016 Maintained a caseload of 3 clients with primary substance use disorders who were seen daily; conducted groups on Understanding Irrational Thinking, Progressive Muscle-Relaxation, Mindfulness, Functional Analysis, Relapse Prevention, and Family Education of Addiction; participated in daily rounds with a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, chemical dependency counselors, nurses, and medical students. Cognitive Behavioral Partial Inpatient Program at Butler Hospital 11/2016-2/2017 Maintained a caseload of 2-3 lower functioning clients with primary mood or psychotic spectrum disorders who are seen daily; conducted groups on Anxiety Management, Challenging Negative Thinking, Values Clarification, Acceptance, and Distress Tolerance; participated in daily rounds with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and medical students. Acceptance and Mindfulness Partial Inpatient Program at Rhode Island Hospital 2/2017-present Maintained a caseload of 3-4 clients with primary mood or personality disorders who are seen daily; conducted groups on a range of topics related to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy including Defusion, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Mindfulness, Self as Context, Values Clarification, Acceptance, and Distress Tolerance; participated in rounds with a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and medical students. Universal Treatment (Outpatient) Program at Butler Hospital 6/2016-present Maintain a caseload of 3 outpatient clients. Provided evidence-based treatments that included Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to treat Depression, ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder, respectively. University at Buffalo-Psychological Services Center (PSC); Clinician Training clinic at UB that offers psychological services to the Erie county community using a sliding scale fee structure and serves children, adolescents, adults, and families Maintained a caseload of clients with difficulties ranging from post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depressed mood, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, substance use disorders as well as personality and psychosocial problems. 6 Forensic Residential Treatment Unit (RTU), Erie County Holding Center-Assessment of Inmates; Clinician Forensic Inpatient externship supervised by Dr. Daniel Antonious Conducted evidence based assessments for a variety of purposes including treatment planning, differential diagnosis, cognitive functioning, well being, competency, suicide risk, and homicide risk for individuals identified as having severe psychopathology (e.g., Schizophrenia, Bi-polar, Severe Substance Abuse) and general population inmates. Maintained a caseload of one inmate for individual therapy. Drug and Alcohol Abuse Services (DAAS: Inpatient and Outpatient), Erie County Medical Center (ECMC)- Motivational Interviewing Training; Clinician Externship on an Inpatient Unit supervised by Dr. Jen Read Motivational interviewing (MI) was used in an inpatient setting to motivate utilization of 12-step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Women for Sobriety, and Secular Organization for Sobriety. I also aided in development of the protocol for therapeutic sessions, based on the literature. Acute Adolescent Psychiatry Unit, Erie County Medical Center (ECMC)-Adolescent Psychosocial Skills Training; Clinician Externship at acute care adolescent inpatient unit Served as a group co-leader on the adolescent inpatient unit. Taught mood regulation skills, assertiveness skills, listening skills, and drug refusal skills to manage affective instability and social pressure to a diverse population of adolescents presenting with acute psychological distress. Adolescents presented with mood disorders, externalizing disorders, psychotic disorders, pervasive developmental disorders, and dissociative disorders with a range of severity 6
