Otherwise, please contact me to arrange Course description and learning outcomes: This course covers theoretical and clinical issues relevant to the assessment and treatment of adults with acquired neurogenic language/cognitive-linguistic disorders (aphasia, right-hemisphere damage, traumatic brain injury, and dementia). Students will learn principles of assessment and intervention planning related to neurophysiology, linguistic and cognitive theory, and research methodology covered in other courses and applied to labs where applicable. Clinical labs will either precede or follow lectures. The labs are designed to expose students to clinical materials and practice through case examples. Labs will parallel the typical sequence of the clinical process (i.e., chart review, assessment, education/counselling and therapy) and will be coordinated with relevant lectures where possible.
