1 2018 Jan-Mar PACIS Training Catalogue and Schedule Prerequisite: None PM Basic This basic course provides the foundation for use of the PM application, front office workflow and user preferences. This course provides an overview of the NextGen PM Application; location and function of the various menus; use of the work flow module appointment scheduling, patient/people lookup, patient check in/check-out, co-pay\payment collection, insurance entries, batch posting, and user scheduling preferences. 2 PM Billing Prerequisite: Completion of PM Basic Class This course builds user skill in utilizing the NextGen PM system to: bill encounters, process insurance claims and execute electronic billing. A review of the NextGen PM application and workflow including: billing/claim edits, insurance claims, case management, financial tabs, charges, payment posting, applying co-pays, invoicing, patient accounts, balance control and daily closing. 3 Prerequisite: Completion of PM Basic PM Practice Administration This course is designed to assist the provider in incorporating the PM Application into their workflow. This course provides a brief review of the PM menu system and templates. Users will learn to utilize the administrative functions of NextGen such as: provider scheduling templates, patient demographics, end of day balancing, electronic claims processing, adding Insurances or co-pay, and creating account statements. 4 PM Accounts Receivable & Reporting Prerequisite: Completion of PM Basic and PM Billing classes The accounts receivable section will instruct users on how to apply A/R functions such as: credits, refunds, and capitated billing postings. The reporting section will review: A/R reports, scheduling reports, general reports, daily and monthly reports. The course will also demonstrate How To topics including: How to access reports, How to modify reports and How to save modified reports for future use. The accounts receivable section will cover: refunds, capitated billing, authorization form attachments and the application of encounter credits. 5 EHR Basic/Clinical Prerequisite: Affiliated practice must be Live on EHR This Session is designed to give users a basic understanding of the NextGen EHR System and how it handles the clinical flow of patient encounters. The course provides an overview of the initial patient intake, documenting the HPI (chief complaint), completing orders and patient checkout. Upon completion of this session users will understand how to navigate the EHR system and be able to load previously collected patient information. Sessions are based on specialty. 6 EHR Provider Prerequisite: Completion of EHR Basic and EHR Clinical This session is designed to give all provider users an understanding of the NextGen EHR system. Upon completion of this session the provider will be able to flow the patient through an office visit and complete all necessary charting. The course will cover documenting the HPI (chief complaint), ROS, physical exam, procedures, assessments (Rx), plans/orders and more. Sessions are based on specialty.
