5 Preventing Youth Tobacco Initiation Policy Agenda for Preventing Youth Initiation of the Georgia Tobacco Use Prevention Program (GTUPP): 1. Tobacco Free Schools (109/181) 2. Tobacco Free Parks (27/203) 3. Tobacco Free Colleges and Universities (46/128) 4. Point-of-Sale (new pilot project)

7 How Much Did We Do? Axis Title Target: All 181 School Districts Cumulative Number of Model Policies Adopted by School Districts in Georgia ,353,037 youth and thousands of employees from 1,786 schools are covered Year Model Policy Adopted Currently, 109 (60%) out of 181 school districts have adopted the model policy.

10 100% Tobacco Free Schools Policy (TFS) Protects all students, staff and visitors Prohibits the use of ALL tobacco products including Electronic Cigarettes Includes all buildings, facility, or vehicles owned, leased, rented or charted by the school district(s) Includes all school grounds and property; including athletic fields and parking lots; owned leased, rented or chartered by the school district(s) During any school sponsored or school related event on campus or off campus 24 hours/7days a week
