3 Introduction to HDC Established on September 18, 2006 Initiative of the Malaysia Government and wholly-owned by the Government of Malaysia through the Ministry of Finance Tasked to ensure an integrated and comprehensive development of the National Halal Industry World s first Development Corporation for the Halal industry HDC provides support to businesses who wish to participate in the global Halal industry, in order to enable businesses to access new markets, grow the Halal industry and benefit the nation 100% governmentowned Reporting to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), HDC coordinates all Halal-related Government initiatives + Private corporation driven HDC has a private sector outlook in responding to the needs of businesses and consumers
4 HDC Vision Our Vision is to build Malaysia as the preferred destination for Halal standard products and services There are other global Halal hubs with whom Malaysia collaborates. Malaysia s vision is to be the preferred destination for certain focus areas in Halal products and services that play to Malaysia economic goals and competitive advantages How Malaysia will achieve this vision is outlined in the Halal Industry Master Plan approved by the Malaysian Government

HDC exists to grow Malaysia s Halal Industry by giving businesses the support from Malaysia to participate in the global Halal market.
