MERRIMAN-NAI, M.C. 2117 HOLBORN ROAD WILMINGTON, DELAWARE 19808 302-831-0236 EMPLOYMENT 2014 Present Associate Scientist Center for Drug and Health Studies University of Delaware College of Arts and Sciences As a principal investigator and team member, collaborate in research, consultation, program outcomes and process evaluation, outreach, and technical assistance on a broad array of issues ranging from substance abuse and behavioral health, violence prevention, disease prevention, and capacity building for healthy communities. Initiatives are supported by the Center s extensive survey data collection, such as the Youth Risk Behavior Surveys, the School Health Profiles, College Risk Behavior Surveys, and the State Epidemiologic Outcomes Work Group. Current and recent projects include: evaluation of a statewide HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention education program; statewide evaluation of the Strategic Prevention Framework Partnerships For Success initiative, including the convening of the State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup; and sharing the overall management of the Center s portfolio of school-based surveys (Delaware School Surveys, School Health Profiles Surveys, Youth Risk Behavior Surveys, and the Youth Tobacco Surveys). Served as the primary organizer for the University s first elder abuse conference that was presented in May 2016, which addressed multidisciplinary approaches and featured national and local experts on a wide variety of topics addressing the safety of seniors. 2012 Present Journal of Elder Abuse & Neglect Taylor & Francis, Philadelphia, PA Associate Editor Assist the Editor-in-Chief in the selection of Editorial Board Members, coordinating the peer-review process, editing manuscripts for publication, selection of guest editors and themes for special issues, and composing Letters from the Editors, in addition to the general promotion of the journal and its contents.

2001 Present Director, Clearinghouse on Abuse and Neglect of the Elderly (CANE), Center for Community Research and Service, University of Delaware, Newark, DE Monitor the nation s most comprehensive annotated index of reference materials, and online resources addressing abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation of the elderly, and related issues. Compiled and edited over 30 thematic annotated bibliographies on topics including: ageism, self-neglect, hoarding, financial exploitation, elder sexual abuse, cultural issues, and domestic violence. 2007-2014 Assistant Policy Scientist Center for Community Research and Service University of Delaware School of Public Policy and Administration Served as a project leader and team collaborator in research, consultation, and technical assistance on policy issues for organizations, government entities, and other stakeholders. Duties include in proposal and budget development, needs assessment, research design, research and project implementation, management, monitoring, and reporting. Provide consultation and communications to promote and support additional CCRS initiatives. Select Projects: National Center of Elder Abuse (NCEA) Public Awareness and Co- Management Activities Directed the NCEA-UD team in national public awareness initiatives such as: first national dissemination of a unified elder abuse information video, the NCEA Elder Abuse Information Piece, in theaters throughout the U.S.; development and coordination of the Join Us in the Fight Against Elder Abuse campaign; engaging and collaborating with other grassroots and professional organizations in support of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and other outreach efforts; and the development and piloting of the NCEA Student Arts Competition. Coordinated the daily activities and communications of the NCEA: composed and edited the monthly NCEA E-News; managed a multidisciplinary listserve of over 1800 professionals; served as a national media spokesperson, participating frequently in print and radio interviews; delivered presentations and participated in national conferences and forums. Providing technical assistance to a wide range of professionals and advocates working with older individuals (including representatives from the aging services and research fields, the health care and mental health systems, the legal and financial arenas, domestic violence, and public

policy) in support of outreach, research, program development, service delivery, policy analysis, and other initiatives. (2007-2011) Brownfield Development Program Assessment Coordinated research team in developing a methodology for assessing social impacts of brownfield redevelopment; piloting assessment in northeast Wilmington; and finalizing a social assessment model adaptable for evaluation of brownfield programs in any jurisdiction. (2011-2013) Employment of Persons within State of Delaware Workforce Designed and conducted a large scale quantitative study of the State of Delaware workforce to determine the scope and nature of disabilities among State employees, and insights regarding employment and advancement opportunities. Sample included over 5,000 respondents.
