Welcome to the Pulse Generator Family We are so excited to have you join us and know that you are going to enjoy the facilities, programs and services that we offer. Over the next year we will be adding to and growing these offerings as our operation rolls out in Calgary. First and most important to note is our fulltime Pulse Generator team member, Matt Thomas. Matt is our team member who is dedicated to our Calgary facilities. He is here to help you and work with you by maintaining a strong presence in the delivery of our programs and services. He will work in our facilities offering high quality training and fitness advice to you, our members. We are confident that you will find him to be extremely well versed in training and fitness protocol, professional and a really nice guy. Please feel free to contact him with your facility and training questions. Website www.pulsegenerator.ca is live and includes the addition of our new family members in Calgary Zone. Winter programs All of the winter programs are underway in our facilities and satellite locations in Calgary and Edmonton. Information is on our website at www.pulsegenerator.ca. When you check out the programs, don t forget to take a look at the newly posted Destination Programs available to all of our members. Destination Fitness - Our Destination Programs have taken us to the Great Wall of China, to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, through the 5 boroughs of New York City (6 times), and along the Caribbean sea side in the Barbados. Runs, walks, treks, all have included the integration of specific activities into each participant s lifestyle in order to reach a destination or a goal. Training programs, travel arrangements and specific preparation have all been included in these amazing programs. All AHS employees, including their partner, friend or spouse, are welcome to join in on these activities. As space is limited in all of these programs, we do recommend that if your interest is piqued by one of them don t wait too long to get the information that you need to join the program. We currently have three destination programs that we are excited to share with you; 1. Spring into the Mountains is our weekend in Kananaskis that we ran last year with great success. If you are interested in perhaps experience one of our destination programs closer to home then this would be a good one for you. The weekend includes 2 nights accommodation at the beautiful Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, 2 breakfasts, 2 morning yoga sessions and a variety of group hiking options. We include social activities and generally a weekend filled with fun, activity and relaxation. Posters have gone up in all of the fitness facilities and the details are available on our website as well. 2. New York City Marathon 2017 - We have taken small groups six (6) times to participate in this iconic event. In 2015, we took 20 participant that included 8 walkers (for the first time). The course is walker friendly as it is open for 10 hours. Everyone had a successful marathon and a great time in NYC. If you are thinking that marathons are only for runners think again. The marathon experience is for everyone! Take a look at this on our website for more information. Please note that the pricing for this activity is all in Canadian Funds. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Joan Radford at joan.radford@ahs.ca. 3. Barbados Marathon and week We have also successfully trained and taken groups to the Barbados in early December for the Marathon/Half Marathon and an amazing vacation week. The Pulse Generator Calgary Zone 2017 Introduction of Rules and Regulations As the Pulse Generator Fitness Facilities are 24/7 and not supervised most of the time, we look to our membership to follow a few simple rules that will ensure the safe use of the facilities for all members: Access to the facilities is granted to those AHS employees who have paid their membership fees. Non-members are not permitted in the fitness facilities at any time. We request that all members respect the integrity of paying members by not letting non-members into the facilities. As this behavior does represent significant risk to all of us, we (the Pulse Generator) will suspend the membership of anyone caught in violation of the rule. No one under the age of 18 years of age is permitted in the facility and the suspension rules above do apply to anyone caught in violation of this rule. Scrubs are not considered to be appropriate workout attire. In order to support infection control regulations, scrubs and work uniforms are not permitted in the facility. This rule is consistent with AHS and hospital infection control regulations. You will be asked to leave the facility if you are found working out in scrubs.. The Pulse Generator will follow up on any reports of facility abuse and act in accordance with facility rules and regulations. We encourage any member observing suspicious or incorrect behavior to send us an email outlining the details: including date, time and description of the behavior, pulsegen@ahs.ca. We would also like to remind you that if you observe the facility being misused or damaged, please contact the site Protective Services immediately. Following these few rules and regulations will ensure that every member has the opportunity to work out in a safe and healthy environment. Would you like your Pulse Generator membership for FREE?
