Letter from Jocelyn Cornwell, founder and chief executive TRUSTEE ROLE Thank you for your interest in being a trustee at The Point of Care Foundation. Please find below an introduction to the organisation plus a description of the role and the type of person we are looking for. About us We began life as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) 1 in April 2013. We grew out of a six year programme of work at The King s Fund (2007-2013), researching and working with NHS teams to improve patients' experience of care and support staff. Our overarching aim is to make healthcare services more human for staff and for patients and their families across the UK and in Ireland. We do this by offering expertise, training and support in practical methods of work in healthcare organisations. The focus of all of the work is either patients experiences of care, or staff experience and well-being often it is both. About the role We are looking for new trustees to contribute to the strategic vision for an exciting and innovative organisation and who have the skills to support our current and future work. This is a timely opportunity to contribute to the effort to transform the culture of healthcare organisations in the UK and make them more staff-friendly and patient-centred. We need trustees who have proven success in their own area of work, with good strategic and leadership skills, an understanding of good charity governance and the willingness to act as a team player with other board members in the best interests of the Foundation.
