Change Champions & Associates presents: How to influence BEHAVIOUR CHANGE in patients with chronic illness 2-day workshop with Elise Wald 21 & 22 May 2014 - Darwin, NT, Australia 09 & 10 June 2014 - Perth, WA, Australia 17 & 18 July 2014 - Sydney, NSW, Australia 15 & 16 September 2014 - Dunedin, New Zealand 23 & 24 September 2014 - Auckland, New Zealand REGISTER ONLINE TODAY! www.changechampions.com.au

About When working with health change we can often feel stuck, doubt ourselves as practitioners and feel like we are burning out trying to assist clients who resist change. It tends to erode our confidence and creates stress around working with those clients. This two day patient/client centred workshop optimises your capacity to promote self care/self management by: Introduces you to an integrated psychological understanding of change, cognitions, motivation and mindfulness. Provides information, stimulates case discussion and practical techniques around encouraging clients and influencing outcomes. Who should attend Any one working with health change, chronic conditions or illness, lifestyle changes, preventative health areas, or with an interest in change. It is ideal for nurses, allied health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, counsellors, psychologists, GP s, health promotion and health restoration professionals, organisational health professionals and policy makers. Why you should come This is not your usual change coaching course. This is a practically orientated workshop with a significant self development component. The material is presented in a fun and innovative way to enable experiential learning and understanding of using a mindful self-empowered approach. It is a self-affirming course which will allow you to come away feeling uplifted and like you can trust yourself more to be intuitive in your approach with clients. It emphasises self-care/self management as vital for the practitioner. Everything presented in the workshop models the change process throughout the two days. www.changechampions.com.au

What you will learn A range of therapeutic approaches are integrated into the workshop to increase your intuitive toolbox when working with a client including: Centred Narrative Therapy Positive Psychology Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Mindfulness, Suggestion Therapy Motivational Interviewing Relaxation Techniques Client Centred Narrative Therapy Learning Outcomes Confidence in how to position yourself in the change process Ideas, techniques and strategies to work with in your toolbox with your client Awareness of use of language to influence change behaviour An integrated perspective on change that is encouraging, mindful and embodies use of positive psychology Ideas for rolling with resistance Inspiration to embrace your own change and self care Testimonials One of the best courses I ve ever attended both for myself and clients It was an amazing experience having such an engaging facilitator. To have such a humble teacher was very empowering The language Elise used was easy to understand, relate with and engaging. The key learning areas I take away are repetition in how the brain works in change, how much self-awareness and our own inhibitions are what holds us back the most and the importance of developing core values and beliefs. Also not being so hard on self. Thank you so much, very inspiring course An excellent course which gave me inspiration to try new things with my clients. It defuzzed some of the ideas I had learned in health coaching.
