VIGOR YOGA FITNESS Course Description: Similar to a power yoga class, Ava designed a stretch session that builds strength while soothing the mind. AQUATIC BODY CONDITIONING Course Description: Class starts with water walking warm-up, toning and conditioning exercises with the use of resistance equipment, and ends with a cool down/stretch. The therapeutic effect of working against the resistance of water helps develop and condition muscles, increasing and improving strength and flexibility. All of this is done to music in the shallow end of the pool. This class is an excellent overall body workout. LIVING MINDFULLY Course Description: Mindfulness is the act of paying attention to what is happening right here and right now, and observing in an even-minded, nonjudgmental way. Living Mindfully means being fully present in each moment. By practicing Mindful Meditation, we access the present moment of stillness in order to be more fully present in our daily lives. Living Mindfully can help enhance our focus, reduce stress, and connect us to our lives in a deeper way. This session will focus on breathing and awareness techniques, guided meditations, and mindful living tools. Bring a journal and pen. About the Facilitator: Susan Long practices mindfulness and meditation and has been a student of meditation for over eight years. Susan facilitates mindfulness practices in small group settings and is currently offering Mindfulness workshops for college students and at the Franciscan Spiritual Center. She has led reflective book studies and seminars. Susan has a teacher s heart and enjoys sharing mindful practices with individuals and groups to engage in the world meaningfully. Registration and Payment Please use the form provided at the end of this brochure for registrations paid by check or cash. Registrations received after the deadline will not be accepted and will be returned via mail. Checks should be made payable to Penn-Delco School District. Please complete all fields on the registration form and print all information clearly. One form per person, per course. Please submit registration forms and course fees to: Penn-Delco School District Community Education Program 2821 Concord Road Aston, PA 19014 Minimum Enrollment All courses require a minimum of ten (10) participants to run; courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment. In the case of course cancellation, you will be notified and your payment will be returned. Returned Checks A check returned for nonsufficient funds will be subject to a $25.00 service charge, which must be paid in addition to class fees (by cash or PaySchools) prior to participation in a course. Proration Registration may not be prorated for any reason. Fees are listed in the description of the course.
Weather Cancellation If the Penn-Delco School District closes for inclement weather, Community Education will also be closed. Cancellations will be announced on KYW (1060 AM) by School District Number 456, the District website www.pdsd.orq, and the District television channel. All make-up classes for weather related cancellations by the District will be added at the end of each course. Planned Closure Dates There will be no classes held during Spring Break, April 15-21, 2019. Refunds You may withdraw from class and receive a full refund at any time prior to the first class meeting. Registration fees cannot be refunded on/or after the first night of the course for any reason. Medical Releases Please be sure to check with your physician prior to signing up for any class listed in our brochure to make sure that it is medically advisable for you to participate in the class. Please do not sign up for a class if your physician advises against your participation. Instructors may require a physician s statement releasing the person to participate in scheduled activities.
