PUNIT KUMAR MISHRA Summary of Professional Experience Mr. Punit Mishra is the Research Officer for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation- funded Research and Evaluation for Action in Child Health (REACH) project, implemented by RTI International. He has extensive experience in academic research and communicating results to policy makers with areas of specialization, including survey methodology and social science data analysis. Mr. Mishra is adept in developing questionnaires; designing large sample surveys; determining sample size; processing and managing large-scale cross-sectional and longitudinal data sets; analyzing survey data on population, health, and development; and monitoring and evaluating programs and policies. Prior to joining RTI, he worked as the Health Financing Specialist at Abt Associates on the US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Health Finance and Governance project to develop the state-level health accounts and public health expenditure review. Mr. Mishra s research interests include statistical and mathematical demography, maternal and child health, health financing, statistical modeling, forecasting, and statistical methods. He has a PhD in statistics, for which his thesis focused on unmet family planning needs in Uttar Pradesh, India, including multilevel analysis of both the primary (e.g., surveys conducted in two districts of Uttar Pradesh for comparative analysis) and secondary (e.g. Demographic and Health Surveys) data.
