SUPPORTING kids to be kids MISSION Supporting Kids to be Kids ROLE We support kids living in families affected by mental illness. HOW WE WORK We provide intervention and education in a fun way through our camps and activities program. We facilitate unforgettable experiences for children, giving them a break from their caring role and a safe environment to share their experiences. We deliver life-changing outcomes that positively affect the lives of kids in Australia. STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY All children who are affected by parents or other family members with a mental illness deserve to be supported, to be valued and strive to reach their potential.

STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS SERVICES GROWTH: We will increase the number of Kookaburra Kids camps and day activities across metropolitan, regional and rural NSW. QUALITY: As we expand we will continuously improve our specialised service offering and demonstrating our excellent results with credible evidence. PEOPLE STAFFING: We will expand our structure to ensure we have the staffing in place to support our growth strategy. VOLUNTEERS: Build upon a highly skilled volunteer base and acknowledge their valuable role in supporting our kids. FOUNDATIONS FUNDING: We will increase the funds we raise from current revenue sources and secure and diversify new revenue sources. PROMOTION: We will improve our marketing and promotion to support our plans to grow Kookaburra Kids services. SERVICES WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE IT Increase the number of camps and day activities We will implement regional growth strategies for the Metro and Southern NSW, Western NSW and Hunter Central Coast Regions. In each region we will - Attract both individual approaches and referrals from other service providers. - Establish partnerships with organisations who will fund us to provide our programs to their participants. Document and evaluate our services to ensure and demonstrate a consistently high quality Enhance our Programs Delivery Manual to help us to ensure consistent quality, replicate and grow our services, and train our staff and volunteers. PEOPLE WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE IT Establish a new structure to ensure we have the staff to support our growth strategy Increase our operations capacity to enable Kookaburra Kids to focus on our growth and development strategy. Invest in - A service development role to focus on our regional development strategies. - Increased fundraising support to increase revenue. Build upon a highly skilled volunteer base and acknowledge their valuable role in supporting our kids Optimise our use of volunteers to assist us with resourcing our strategic priorities including: working in our target regions; working with culturally diverse participants; and assisting with marketing and promotions. FOUNDATIONS WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE IT Increase and diversify fundraising Expand fundraising activities targeting existing sources of funding (i.e. donations, grants and events). Introduce fund raising activities targeting new sources of funding (e.g. long term corporate sponsors; fees-for-service). Prepare specific funding requests for particular activities, programs or regions which target funders who are likely to be interested in that request. Improve marketing to support our strategic priorities Enhance our marketing and communications to assist us to promote our fundraising, growth and volunteer recruitment strategies. Improve our use of on-line and social media strategies. Strengthen our governance and risk management practices Review and implement revised Board procedures and key Board committees.
