The Last 17 Days Lane County November 30 3:30 PM Red Cross volunteers Wanda Risley and Mary Anne Carney responded to a disaster in the 1300 block of 17th Ave in Eugene, Ore. This single-family fire affected two adults and three children. Red Cross provided lodging, food, comfort kits and information about disaster mental health and disaster health services. Tom Traver (public affairs) supported the Multnomah County November 30 The emergency warming center at Imago Dei Community in southeast Portland was opened when temperatures dropped to below 25 degrees. Approximately 35 Red Cross volunteers provided blankets, sleeping mats, warm beverages and a safe place to stay for 216 people and 6 pets. Polk County November 30 12:20 PM Henry Bodkin, Bob Elliott and Bill Slegers responded to a disaster in the 2800 block of Van Kleeck in Salem, Ore. This multi-family fire affected nine adults. Red Cross provided lodging, food, clothing, shoes, comfort kits and information about disaster mental health and disaster health services. Tom Traver (public affairs) supported the Clark County November 30 8:59 AM Red Cross disaster action volunteers Chris Kane, Maureen Hursh and David Drew responded to a disaster in the 3000 block of Main Street in Vancouver, Wash. This single-family fire affected one adult. Red Cross provided lodging, food, clothing, shoes, comfort kit and information about disaster mental health and disaster health services. Supporting the response were Tom Traver (public affairs) and Pat Bishop (health services). Multnomah County November 29 Teams of 30-35 volunteers staffed the emergency warming center at Imago Dei Community in southeast Portland when the City of Portland Housing Bureau declared severe weather as the wind chill overnight dropped to below 25 degrees. Overnight stays were provided for 128 people and four pets. Josephine County November 26 6:40 PM Linda Templin and James Jessee responded to a disaster in the 500 block of NW Butler in Grants Pass, Ore. This single-family fire affected three adults, three children and two pets. The Red Cross provided food, clothing, shoes, comfort kits, and information about disaster mental health and disaster health services.
