President s Message 2018 is well underway and we have a lot planned for the rest of the year. In this newsletter, you will find the tentative program schedule for the rest of the year. We have some great events planned already including the March 16 th ACL User Group Meeting at Air Products, April 20 th Lehigh Valley Chapter s 40 th Anniversary Celebration at the Hotel Bethlehem, and the May 30 th Iron Pigs game social. In the works are a dinner meeting in March and a possible full day training at Olympus in May. Check out the Chapter s Website for registration information. The local ACFE Chapter is hosting the Student Night this year, which will be held on March 1 st at DeSales University. The speaker will be Jian Xiao from Turning Point Solutions who will present on Ethics. Registration details are forthcoming. I am happy to announce that we have our slate of officers finalized for the 2018 2019 year. Look for an announcement in a future newsletter. I appreciate those of you who have agreed to volunteer with the organization. It takes active members to make this chapter a success. We couldn t do it without you. With that said, we are always looking for more volunteers. Whether it s as an Officer, a Board member, or planning an event, we need your assistance in achieving this goal by becoming more active in the Chapter. Payment for all events is preferred at the time of registration. Breakfast and Dinner meetings may be paid at the door, but cancellations after registration period cannot be refunded. Payments for any other Chapter event must be made no later than the close of the registration period. If payment is not made by this time, then stand-by registrants will replace unpaid registrants as attendees. The Chapter incurs fixed costs when arranging a Chapter event, so any cancellation (paid or unpaid) after the close of the event registration cannot be refunded, nor applied to a future Chapter event. 2

Turning Point provides CFO services such as planning, budgeting, accounting advisory and training to start up, small and midsize business owners. Jian is also an adjunct professor in the Gabelli School of Business and the former Director of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Exam Preparation program in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, at Fordham University. Jian is a recipient of the Dean's Award for Excellence in teaching at the Gabelli School, and a nominee for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College. Prior to starting Turning Point Solutions Jian served as a Director in the Financial Management Group at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where she managed MetLife s International Technology financial portfolios. She partnered with CFOs, CIOs and other key stakeholders to develop best practices to drive financial results, financial analysis, and long term planning and asset management. Jian has served as a consultant to Soros Fund Management, performing a due diligence review on the Quantum 3 Endowment Fund s performance reporting. Jian has also held positions at ABN Amro, Merrill Lynch, Societe Generale and Dreyfus.
