SCCT2017 OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES The SCCT 12th Annual Scientific Meeting is designed to engage physicians and healthcare professionals interpreting cardiovascular CT in a comprehensive exploration of the most current developments in the field of cardiovascular CT principles, methodologies, appropriateness criteria, and clinical practice. Didactic lectures, image-based case examples, and the research in cardiovascular CT are designed to increase the competence and performance of the physician and technologist performing and interpreting cardiovascular CT. The Annual Scientific Meeting will focus on the technological advances, as well as the potential applications and limitations of cardiovascular CT. STATEMENT OF NEED Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and imposes an ever increasing burden on health care systems. Rapidly changing technology and the criteria for its use continue to be at the forefront in the diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with possible cardiovascular disease. Due to advancing technologies in cardiovascular imaging, it is essential that we close the knowledge, competence, and performance gaps by bringing together experts in the field to provide peer-to-peer education and interactive discussion through case-based, didactic, and interactive sessions. Cardiologists, radiologists, technologists, and other clinicians with an interest in cardiovascular disease will benefit from the varied formats at SCCT2017. SCCT has designed the SCCT2017 12th Annual Scientific Meeting to address and narrow the practice gaps of its members. AT THE CONCLUSION, PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE BETTER ABLE TO Discuss with colleagues the parameters which result in maximum image quality while minimizing radiation exposure during cardiovascular CT Identify potential common image artifacts which contribute to inappropriate analysis of cardiovascular CT scans Determine when an alternative imaging method would improve the diagnosis of a specific cardiovascular anomaly Critically evaluate those data which indicate potential applications of cardiovascular CT in other patient studies Evaluate the emerging research in cardiovascular CT to determine its possible role in changing the current evidence-based protocols or stimulating additional research Discuss the appropriate use of cardiovascular CT with colleagues and patients 3

SPECIALTY HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS NEW IN 2017! SPECIALTY HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS Don t forget to add workshops to your SCCT2017 registration! Space is limited and the cost varies depending on course register today to secure your spot! NEW FUNCTIONAL CT IMAGING OF CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE CT MYOCARDIAL PERFUSION AND CT-DERIVED FRACTIONAL FLOW RESERVE WORKSHOP Thursday July 6, 2017 8:00 am 5:30 pm Expert faculty use a combination of didactics and hands-on workstation review to learn the basic principles of interpreting myocardial CT perfusion imaging. Participants will have access to a workstation to gain experience in manipulating and interpreting coronary CT angiography and myocardial CT perfusion with comparisons of CT results to reference standards such as invasive angiography, SPECT, and FFR. The workshop will include cases with reversible ischemia, myocardial infarction, and prior coronary intervention. Attendees will earn case credits for coronary CTA and perfusion imaging. Space is limited register today! NEW CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE AND CARDIOVASCULAR CT WORKSHOP Thursday July 6, 2017 8:00 am 5:00 pm The population of adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) is growing exponentially as a result of improved outcomes of medical, surgical, and catheter-based treatment strategies. As CHD patients live longer, there is a greater need for high resolution coronary imaging in addition to anatomic imaging, increased use of electrophysiology devices that are MRI unsafe, and higher prevalence of metallic implants that adversely affect MRI image quality. For these patients, CT is increasingly the preferred advanced imaging modality. CT in CHD combines the knowledge and skill sets of both pediatric and adult cardiology and radiology physicians. An educational platform focused specifically on the use of CT in patients with CHD does not exist. The Congenital Heart Disease and Cardiovascular CT Workshop was developed to fill this educational gap within the field of cardiology and radiology. Designed for adult cardiovascular imagers, this introductory workshop will use a workstation and case-based approach to discuss optimal acquisition and interpretation of CT scans in CHD. This educational program will focus specifically on the use of CT in adult patients with CHD including: Patient selection and preparation, scan acquisition, and scan interpretation. Space is limited register today! 7
