Gemstone Carving Participants will be presented with: a brief history of carving, an overview of current and historic carving tools and techniques, different types of materials and selection of materials, implementation of carving, sanding, and polishing techniques. Participants will learn to use the power tool set to carve gemstone jewelry. Advanced students will learn and develop the skills necessary to create more complex designs. Workshop is geared towards both beginning and advanced level individuals. All required materials and equipment will be provided by the instructor for a nominal cost of $5.00 (to be paid directly to the instructor for use of supplies).
