Scientifically advanced. Personally accessible. EmbryVu. Advanced preimplantation genetic screening that can help you find the path to pregnancy.

The power to decide When you are going through treatment for infertility, you want to plan for success. That s exactly what preimplantation genetic screening, or PGS, is designed to do and why so many families are making PGS a standard part of their in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment plan. Why aneuploidy matters When an embryo has more than, or fewer than, the normal number of chromosomes, that s a condition known as aneuploidy. Embryos that are aneuploid may fail to implant in the uterus or may result in a miscarriage. Aneuploidy occurs across all age groups, but after a woman reaches age 35, the proportion of aneuploid embryos increases rapidly. An important part of IVF PGS with EmbryVu is a way of identifying embryos with the correct number of chromosomes to improve your chances of a successful pregnancy. IVF pregnancy rates are significantly higher when PGS is used. 2

3

Who is EmbryVu for? PGS with EmbryVu can make a real difference for many people. Are you a woman over the age of 35? Have you had 1 or more miscarriages?* Have you been through unsuccessful IVF cycles before?* Have you had a previous pregnancy with whole chromosome abnormality?* Are you challenged by male factor infertility?* Is it important to you to be able to learn the sex of your child? Do you want to reduce the chance of having twins or other multiple births? While aneuploidy is more common as you get older, it can occur at any age. That s why PGS can be an important part of IVF for women of all ages. Maternal age and aneuploidy Percentage of embryos with an abnormal number of chromosomes 23% 35% 58% 84% AGE 30 AGE 35 AGE 40 AGE 45 Adapted from Franasiak JM et al. Fertil Steril. 2014;101(3):656-653. 4 *Ask your doctor if EmbryVu is right for you based on your medical history.

How EmbryVu works The process starts as soon as you and your IVF doctor decide together that PGS may help improve your chances of a successful pregnancy. 1 2 Your fertility team removes (biopsies) a few cells from each of your embryos and sends the cells to the Good Start Genetics laboratory just a few embryonic cells are enough. Our procedure analyzes all 23 chromosome pairs to identify normal* implantation-ready embryos. Your results are available within 7 to 10 days. 3 Based on your results, your fertility team selects healthy* embryos for transfer, increasing your chances of a successful pregnancy. * Normal and healthy imply the expected number of whole chromosomes indicated by EmbryVu. 5

A partner you can rely on PGS is a well-established, well-understood procedure in fertility medicine, and the breakthrough EmbryVu screening from Good Start Genetics is making it available to more people than ever before. Good Start Genetics is a company committed to delivering science and customized personal care to help families make informed decisions for the future. Using our proprietary processes and nextgeneration sequencing technology, Good Start Genetics developed EmbryVu to make PGS more affordable, with quality you can trust.
