We are pleased to announce the availability of Serology/Virology Testing performed at Laboratory Reference Centre (LRC) Hamilton Regional Lab Medicine Program. This testing is available from Monday to Thursday only. NEW TESTS: for more details please refer to the specific test information at www.iclabs.ca Serology Acute Hepatitis Note: This is a group test that includes; Hepatitis A Antibody (IgM) and Hepatitis B surface Antigen. Positive results indicate an acute Hepatitis A infection. Reflex testing is done for Hepatitis B Core IgM Antibody if HBsAg is reactive. Method: Chemiluminescent Microparticle Immunoassay TAT: 2 Days Fee: $20.08 Serology Chronic Hepatitis Note: This is a group test that includes; Hepatitis B surface Antigen screen and Hepatitis C Antibody screen test. If positive, confirmed at TPHL. Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (Qualitative) Note: This test is performed to detect if a patient is reactive or non-reactive for the Hepatitis B surface antigen. Hepatitis B Core Ab reflexed if HBsAg is a new positive result, HBsAg confirmatory reflexed if reactive on repeat testing and is a new positive. Hepatitis B Surface Ag (Confirmatory) (not orderable reflex test) Note: This test is performed to confirm or not confirm a reactive result for Hepatitis B surface antigen. Hepatitis C Antibody Note: This test is used to detect past or current infection and possible infectious status of Hepatitis C... Serology Cytomegalovirus Antibody (IgM)- Diagnosis Note: This test is used to indicate a primary or a reactivated Cytomegalovirus infection. It is reported as positive (detected) or negative (not detected).
