9 Transitions in life are challenging, right???? College is dramatically different than high school. Expectations are mismatched with deficits common to ADHD/LD Different services/accommodations and methods for accessing these o Kid in a candy store! o OBF o MO disorder
10 They are greater at risk for: Self management challenges Academic difficulties Inconsistent or unusual enrollment patterns Taking longer to graduate or not graduating at all Not using resources
11 If they prepare for college before they transition. If they use resources they may have similar experiences to their peers without ADHD/LD

13 Honestly assess our interactions to: o Determine if we are part of the problem? Or part of the solution? oresponses that are enabling versus empowering o Or part of the solution? Responses that are empowering versus enabling
14 Develop strategic plans to decrease adult involvement and promote readiness and independence. Raise awareness of differences between high school and college. Video interviews: Hear from the Experts at Involve teens in college transition activities
