Equipment should be thoroughly decontaminated after use. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Observe all protection and safety precautions when cleaning up spills - See Exposure Controls/Personal Protection, Section 8. Observe all protection and safety precautions when cleaning up spilled material -- see Occupational Control Procedures. Spills or leaks on floor or other impervious surfaces can be covered with attapulgite or bentonite. Scoop up contaminated clay, place in metal drum and dispose of in accordance with instructions under Disposal. When all possible solid material has been picked up, scrub surface with a strong detergent solution and rinse with water. Spills or leaks on the ground should be contained in the smallest possible area. Dig up contaminated soil, place in drums and dispose of in accordance with instructions under Disposal. Leaking containers or collected spilled liquid should be placed in metal drums and disposed of in accordance with instructions under Disposal. Do not contaminate water, foodstuffs, seed or feed by storage and disposal. Refer to Section 13 for disposal information and Sections 14 and 15 for reportable quantity information. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE HANDLING:Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist. Keep container closed. Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Remove clothing immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing. This product is toxic to fish. Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not apply where runoff is likely to occur. Do not apply when weather conditions are likely to cause drift from treated areas. Runoff and drift from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. STORAGE: Do not contaminate water, foodstuffs, feed or seed by storage or disposal. Store above 20 F and below 100 F to keep product in suspension.

EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION EYE PROTECTION: Wear chemical safety goggles to prevent eye contact during operations such as mixing or transfer or other activities when there is potential for eye contact. SKIN PROTECTION: Wear appropriate protective clothing and waterproof gloves to prevent skin contact. Applicators and other handlers must wear: coveralls, worn over long sleeved shirt and long pants; waterproof gloves; chemical resistant footwear with socks; chemical-resistant apron when cleaning equipment, mixing or loading; and chemical-resistant headgear when there is overhead exposure. Wash hands and contaminated skin thoroughly after handling. Discard clothing and other absorbent materials that have been drenched or heavily contaminated with this product's concentrate. Do not reuse them. Follow manufacturer's instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry. Attention! Repeated or prolonged contact may cause allergic skin reaction in some people. RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Avoid breathing mist or vapor. Use NIOSH approved equipment when airborne exposure limits are exceeded (see below). In work situations where an air purifying respirator is appropriate to be used, use of a respirator equipped with purifying elements for protection against organic vapor and dust/mist approved for pesticides is recommended. Full facepiece replaces the need for chemical goggles. Observe respirator use limitations specified by the manufacturers. Respiratory protection programs must comply with 29 CFR VENTILATION: Provide natural or mechanical ventilation to control exposure levels below airborne exposure limits (see below). The use of local mechanical exhaust ventilation at sources of air contamination such as open process equipment is preferred. Consult NFPA Standard 91 for design of exhaust systems. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY STABILITY: Product is stable under normal conditions of storage and handling. Below 20 degrees F the product may freeze. If frozen, mix will to resuspend when temperature is above 40 degrees F. Above 100 degrees F the product may become thick and unsprayable. COMPONENTS Propachlor Propachlor, the active herbicidal ingredient of RAMROD Flowable herbicide, is slightly toxic orally (rats) and practically nontoxic after skin application (rabbits). It is severely irritating to rabbit eyes and slightly irritating to rabbit skin. Skin allergy was observed in guinea pigs following repeated skin exposure. No skin allergy was observed in humans following repeated exposures in controlled skin contact studies. However, due to reports of skin rashes among users, it is concluded that Propachlor Technical may produce allergic skin reaction in susceptible individuals. Excessive exposure to propachlor dust has been reported to cause eye and upper respiratory tract irritation. In repeat dosing studies (90-day), rats fed Propachlor Technical exhibited decreased body weight gains and changes in blood composition, including mild anemia and changes indicative of mild liver cell damage. Following repeated exposures (28- and 90-days) to propachlor in their feed, reductions in body weight gain and kidney weights, changes in blood components and effects on liver tissues were observed in mice, while reduced weight gain and food consumption, apparently as a result of reduced diet palatability, and slight changes in blood composition occurred in dogs. Similar doses given to dogs for a longer period (1-year) produced reduced weight gain, possibly as a result of poor diet palatability.

6 [RAMROD FLOWABLE Herbicide Page 6 of 8 Mice fed Propachlor Technical (18-months) exhibited liver and kidney weight changes. No adverse effects were observed in long-term feeding studies with rats (24-months). Propachlor Technical did not produce tumors in these studies. No birth defects were noted in rats and rabbits given Propachlor Technical orally during pregnancy, even at amounts which produced mild toxic effects on the offspring. No effects were seen on the ability of male or female rats to reproduce when fed Propachlor Technical for two successive generations. Propachlor Technical has generally produced no genetic changes in standard tests using animals and animal or bacterial cells. A positive response was reported in one assay using animals and a weak response occurred in one assay using animal cells. Emulsifiers Concentrated material can be irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract and may contribute to the eye and skin irritation potential reported in tests on RAMROD Flowable herbicide. Ethylene Glycol Ethylene glycol has been reported to cause eye irritation and slight skin irritation following repeated or prolonged contact. Inhalation of vapors and mists of ethylene glycol has been reported to cause respiratory tract irritation. Though not well absorbed following inhalation or skin contact, ethylene glycol is rapidly absorbed orally. Poisoning from willful or accidental ingestion of ethylene glycol, often as a component of antifreeze, has been reported to cause central nervous system depression, vomiting, drowsiness, cardiopulmonary and kidney dysfunction, inflammation of the brain and surrounding protective tissues, coma and death. Conversion of this chemical to oxalate by the body may produce crystals in the urine and concurrent irreversible kidney damage. Exposure to ethylene glycol in the industrial settings is generally considered to pose only a low degree of risk when ingestion is avoided. Studies in laboratory animals confirmed the toxic effects to kidney reported for humans. Ethylene glycol has produced developmental effects in laboratory animals following repeated oral exposures or repeated inhalation. Hydrated Aluminum Silicate (Kaolin Clay) (containing <1% crystalline silica) RAMROD Flowable herbicide contains up to <2% kaolin clay. Inhalation of excessive amounts of kaolin dust may produce coughing, sneezing and nasal irritation. Long-term overexposure to kaolin dust may cause respiratory difficulties, such as decreased lung capacity. Silica Gel, Hydrated Amorphous RAMROD Flowable herbicide contains <5% silica gel (amorphous silica). Inhalation of silica dust can cause drying of mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and throat (due to absorption of moisture and oils) which may result in irritation and occasional nose bleeds. Repeated exposure to silica gel has not been reported to have significant adverse health effects in workers. However, persons with breathing problems or lung disease may be at an increased risk. Laboratory studies in animals exposed by inhalation to silica gel have shown no adverse effects. 12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Monsanto has conducted ecological toxicity tests with this product: Aquatic Invertebrates: 48-hr EC50 Daphnia magna: 13.4 mg/l; Slightly Toxic

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS Wastes resulting from the use of this product that cannot be used or chemically reprocessed should be disposed of in a landfill approved for pesticide disposal or in accordance with applicable Federal, State or local procedures. Completely empty bag into application equipment. Then dispose of empty bag in a sanitary landfill or by incineration, or if allowed by State or local authorities, by burning. If burned stay out of smoke. Do not reuse container. Triple rinse container. Then puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by incineration, or if allowed by State and local authorities, by burning, if burned, stay out of smoke.
