A F O U N D AT I O N f o r Because ATOPIC DERMATITIS is one of the most prevalent skin diseases Because it significantly alters the quality of life of millions of children and their families Because a great deal of research work is still required to solve all its mysteries Pierre Fabre Laboratories have decided to seek even closer relations between scientists, doctors, patients and their families by creating a corporate foundation exclusively dedicated to ATOPIC DERMATITIS. A FOUNDATION for Research The teams involved in research on ATOPIC DERMATITIS, whether epidemiology, genetics, immunology, fundamental or clinical research, may apply to the FOUNDATION for material support subject to approval by the Foundation s Scientific Committee. A FOUNDATION for Information ATOPIC DERMATITIS is not well known. Parents, as well as educators, doctors and other healthcare professionals, need information on the nature of ATOPIC DERMATITIS, its treatments, impact on the life of patients and their families, and the best ways to relieve the burden this disease creates. The FOUNDATION will contribute to the distribution of this information through professional and general media.
Missions Participate in financing research and clinical studies on ATOPIC DERMATITIS. Support all activities, whether scientific or media-based, to better communicate and provide information on the disease, therapeutic treatments and the daily life of patients. Design and implement educational tools and actions. Create, publish and distribute information materials for practitioners, parents and children.
Projects Participation in the creation of the Schools of Atopy in Madrid, Milan, Cracow, Gdansk, Rome and Buenos Aires. Creation of educational tools and brochures on therapeutic education. Support in the creation of an internet site for exchanges between professors on therapeutic education related to ATOPIC DERMATITIS (Opened Dermatology). Implementation of a European exchange bursary to reward scientific projects on ATOPIC DERMATITIS conducted within a hospital.
A FOUNDATION for Education To participate in this effort, Pierre Fabre Laboratories have decided to create a corporate FOUNDATION, the objective of which is to support research projects in any field that may improve our understanding of ATOPIC DERMATITIS and its treatment. Like all chronic diseases, ATOPIC DERMATITIS is difficult to treat. Children and parents who do not always know how to take advantage of available treatments with their benefits, but also limitations, often become discouraged. Therapeutic education uses appropriate tools to provide the knowledge required, which can be immediately transformed into precious know-how to be applied in everyday life. Schools of Atopy, already in existence, have acquired experience that the Foundation will help communicate. A FOUNDATION for you If ATOPIC DERMATITIS is a concern for you, the FOUNDATION is at your service. Whether a researcher, doctor, healthcare professional, educator, patient or group of patients, the FOUNDATION will be your attentive partner.
FOUNDATION for ATOPIC DERMATITIS: Research and education If you would like to invest in the field of ATOPIC DERMATITIS or further fundamental or clinical research; if you would like to participate in all the efforts in place to improve the quality of life and treatment of patients suffering from ATOPIC DERMATITIS.
