1 The medlouxx-therapy in sports- medicine and physiotherapy One of the most important limitations in Photomedicine is the penetration depth of photons in human tissue, which is in general small. The absorption coefficients of biological tissue are immutable material constants, which determine the light penetration. As the first therapeutic system worldwide, the medlouxx is using a special physical effect, the QIT-effect [quantumoptical induced transparency]. The QIT principle modifies the absorption of photons, by changing the actual absorption kinetics and increases the penetration depth of light in biological tissue by a magnitude of order. As result, bone tissue of the cranial bone and at hip- or knee joint, muscle tissue and connective tissue can be deeply permeated, even when moderate primary light energies are applied. The medlouxx- therapies have been developed at various Universities and University Clinics in Germany. The mitochondria are the primary target of the medlouxx-treatments. During evolution the mitochondria became part of all eucaryothic cells, maintaining their original light absorption properties. As consequence, a myocard cell shows the same photobiologic behaviour like a neuronal cell, an osteoblast cell, a fibroblast cell a muscle cell or a mast cell. 2 The medlouxx-radiation is exactly adjusted to the peak position and the halfwith of the infrared doublet bands of Cytochrom- C-oxidase and guarantees the most effective excitation of ATP, therefore the optimum stimulation of cellular DNA/RNA synthesis and significant reduction of inflammation processes. These irradiation characteristics are the basics of the unique regenerative efficiacy of medlouxxtreatments. Due to the QIT-effect, the medlouxx- irradiation reaches deep tissue layers in muscle tissue, connective tissue and even in bone tissue. For the first time, effective transcranial treatments become possible, which opens the door for non-invasive, causal treatments of neurodegenerative diseases, psychatric diseases and chronic headaches. It allows the radiography of big joints at the hip and the knee and the effective radiography of the spine, everything with non-ionizing, infrared radiation! medlouxx is an artificial term, it is deduced from mitochondrial excitation due to lowering of light absorption Physiological effects of medlouxx IR radiation Reduktion of inflammations, due to medlouxx induced decrease of IL-1 improved wound healing, due to enhanced fibroblast metabolism Reduction of pain, due to increased release of ß-endorphines Regeneration of tissue, due to increases RNA/DNA replication lokale increase of blood and lymph circulation due to vasodilation effects Reduktion of swelling and edema Therapeutic spectrum of medlouxx- IR treatments Tennis-ellbow, Golfer-ellbow Tendon inflammations and ligament injuries muscle injuries sprain, contusion, strain of muscles, tendons and ligaments Hematoma Bursitis Chronic inflammations We recommend to follow the treatment tables of the WALT (World Associaton of Lasertherapy) and the treatment data, given therein, for the treatment of joints, muscles and tendons! Recommended doses are for white/caucasian skin types based on results from clinical trials or extrapolation of study results with similar pathology and ultrasonographic tissue measurements. sports injuries - ligamentes Early begin Daily and extended Long time to resolve Reducing time of reha

The medlouxx-devices are small and handy. They have a modern glas-touchpad as input unit. The operation is easy and intuitively. All medlouxx-treatments are non-invasive and painless. The treatments do not induce any adverse events and are free of side-effects. Medlouxx operates in contact modus, supplying exactly definded fluences into the tissue. Exchangable radiation-heads for neurology, orthopedics and dermatology are available, the maximum primary output power is of about 1 W. In sports medicine applications the medlouxx can be equipped with a battery, which allows net-independend operations at trainee-or competition areas.
