Describe a successful program designed to reduce the number of tragedies resulting from encounters between police and people with ASD. Identify safety goals for transition planning or community integration. 2 YESTERDAY. TODAY THE FACTS Costs 2.3 million dollars over lifespan to educate a child with ASD Experiencing 1 st wave of kids with ASD graduating and hoping to enter the workforce. 2

3 WITH INCREASED INDEPENDENCE COMES INCREASED RISKS 1/3-1/2 of all individuals killed by law enforcement have disabilities or mental health conditions.
