2 Acoustic Neuroma (Vestibular Schwannoma) is a Schwann cell derived tumour arising from the Eighth cranial nerve (hearing and balance nerve), found in the Cerebello-Pontine Angle (CPA) and skull base region. Because of its location and the nature, its management requires a multidisciplinary team effort with dedicated clinicians. The seventh Biennial is organised jointly by The Queensland Skull Base Unit, Queensland Acoustic Neuroma Association and Audiology Australia (Queensland Branch). It is a unique event in Australia as it brings together clinicians and patients in a joint forum. The 2018 Conference will feature Surgeons (ENT and Neurosurgery), Physicians, Radiologists, Medical and Radiation Oncologists and Allied Health specialists (Audiologist, Physiotherapist and Speech Pathologist) will present a showcase of the activities from the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals. A popular feature of the program will again be patient-to-patient support with two personal experience presentations. CME Points This educational activity has been approved in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon s CPD program. Fellows who participate can claim 1 point per hour 4 points in Maintenance of Knowledge and Skills towards 2018 CPD totals.

6 The 7th Biennial David Brown-Rothwell David Brown-Rothwell devoted a large part of his professional career to improving and expanding Audiological aspects of care for patients with Acoustic Neuromas and other Skull Base tumours. He saw the multi-faceted and wide-ranging effects that these tumours have for patients and their families and understood the need for the different professionals involved to work together in a cohesive way. He also recognised the need for patients to be informed about their own condition and the choices that they have available to them. It was David s vision to create a conference that would bring patients and clinicians together to share knowledge and understanding of all aspects of living well with Acoustic Neuromas and Skull Base Tumours. This is one of the great legacies that he has left us. Jillian Sellars
