1 JOIN THE RIOT Short Bio The five Stockholmians Henrik Ljungqvist (vocals), Jonas Engdahl (bass), Simon Santunione (drums), Andre Sund (guitar) and Patrik Berg-Almkvisth (keys) met in school and started playing together in 2013 with a vision to make great pop and rock music, inspired by childhood heroes such as Phoenix, Coldplay and Empire Of The Sun. In four years Join The Riot has released their debut album, two EP s and several singles, including features in H BO s Silicon Valley, Scandinavian V olkswagen commercial and Dave McCary s first feature film B rigsby Bear to mention a few. 2 The Story Swedish pop quintet Join The Riot was brought together because of their shared love for pop and rock music. The sound has been described by bloggers throughout the world as infectious, melodic indie with a sunny and dreamy vibe attached to it. The music will get you moving and singing along and has often been compared to bands such as Coldplay, Phoenix, Empire Of The Sun and M83. Emerging from different corners of Stockholm, Sweden, the mixed souls of Henrik, Jonas, André and Simon met at the city s popular rock music school and started the band in Join The Riot became a thing on the Swedish indie scene right from the start when their first singles Ménage à Trois, Queen Marmalade, Karotte and Louis were picked up on national radio and met by words of encouragement from different blogs around the world. In 2014 the band landed Wow, a track from their first EP Buckle Up, on the Scandinavian V olkswagen commercial. Patrik joined in 2015 when the band went on their first international tour to China. That same year the band engaged in a somewhat unorthodox recording project which took place in a public display window attached to hotel Scandic Malmen on the busiest street corner of Stockholm. After one month of hard work recording, their debut album A Glass Cage Of Emotions was completed in July and released in December Join The Riot's latest tour to China, in the beginning of 2017, became the starting point of writing their second EP Echo, which was released in the beginning of The material is a mix of both big arena pop and down scaled singer songwriting. During this time the band also made features in both HBO s hit series S ilicon Valley as well as D ave McCary s indie film B rigsby Bear, a long with millions of streams on both Spotify and their video releases in China.
