All equipment is checked for safety and performance prior to each hire. Personal safety is very importance to us, as is the safe use of all equipment. Accordingly written/verbal instructions, advice and demonstrations, where practicable, are freely given when hiring. The use of the appropriate personal safety equipment is strongly advised and is available on a sale or return basis. To protect our customers and our equipment, user competence is something that we will assess at each hire. We reserve the right to refuse to hire equipment if the prospective hirer is, in our opinion, liable to use the equipment in an inappropriate or unsafe manner. We also stress that the hirer or his agent has a personal responsibility to assess each task as to the suitability of both the equipment being hired and the ability of the operator to use the equipment in a safe and proper manner. All equipment is potentially hazardous when used incorrectly.

8 Stevenage Hire Services Established in 1976, Stevenage Hire Services has, for nearly forty years, built up a reputation for service, reliability and competitive pricing. As an independent company we are innovative and flexible and offer for hire an extensive range of Building, Gardening and DIY equipment to the Trade, to Industry and to the Public. We also sell all types and makes of power tools and equipment from leading manufacturers. If we hire it we sell it! A full range of consumable items such as Flogas LPG bottled gas, diamond blades, drill bits, sanding sheets and safety equipment are all available. Our in-house repair service covers all types of power tools and equipment including drills, generators, lawnmowers etc. We also offer a comprehensive sharpening service which includes saws, drill bits, chisels etc. As members of the Hire Trade Alliance all our equipment is hired in accordance with their Terms Of Hire, which are printed on the rear of our Hire Note, and offered subject to availability. All equipment is charged on a time out basis until it is returned to our depot or collected by us. One, two and three day rates will apply during the first week of hire. A daily rate of 1/7th of the weekly rate will apply after the first week of hire. Delivery and collection of all equipment listed can be arranged at an extra charge, details of which are available upon request. We accept payment by debit or credit card and cash. Cheques are only accepted from approved account holders. All charges are subject to VAT at the appropriate rate. Non account customers will be required to pay a deposit and provide two forms of identification before commencement of hire. A driving license as one form of identification is preferred. We strongly recommend the use of the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles, gloves, masks etc. These are all readily available at an additional cost. All hire equipment is thoroughly examined and tested before each hire, in compliance with the relevant regulations and in accordance with manufacturer s recommendations. Written and or verbal operating instructions are available to all customers. The hirer is responsible for the insurance and safe keeping of all equipment whilst on hire. Loss or damage [other than fair wear and tear] will be charged to the hirer in accordance with our hire terms and conditions. The hirer is also responsible for ensuring that all equipment is, whilst on hire, used safely. Our advice is free. Our prices competitive. Our service the best.
