2 familytime Family Reunions demoville Reunion Brent and Dianne went to the first demoville family reunion in Kingsland and had a great time with the whole family. Sara Alice joined us this year and it was a great treat having her share in the event. Carter and little Brent both had a great time celebrating their birthdays along with their Grand-Daddy Bevie Murphy Reunion Dianne went to the Murphy family reunion in Henderson this summer and the theme was the Murphy family tree. Each family created a family tree of photographs for all to enjoy. Las Vegas Marathon Connie Dockendorf trained most of the year and competed in the Las Vegas marathon. She finished and added one more accomplishment to her long list of success. We are proud of Connie and her strong determination. From 2 to 9 The demoville household went from a population of 2 to 4 adults, one baby, three dogs, and a cat when Trey and Sadie moved in this year. Trey had a job in Temple and they stayed with us while they tried to sell their house in Fort Worth. They decided not to sell the house and Trey took a job in Fort Worth. We loved having them stay for a while.

Work News Brent Brent had another busy year starting with a presentation he gave in February to a Pharmaceutical Talent Management conference on succession planning.

He was published in the OD Journal in the fall with an article about Allergan s leadership development programs.

3 Work News Brent Brent had another busy year starting with a presentation he gave in February to a Pharmaceutical Talent Management conference on succession planning. He participated in the global Allergan HR meeting in London and the GTOPs HR roundtable in Ireland during May. He was published in the OD Journal in the fall with an article about Allergan s leadership development programs. For most of the year, Brent worked with Alice White, Matt McNabb, and Alexandra Taketa on the implementation of a new automated performance management system for Allergan. He was also asked to be the business lead for the 2008 Learning Management System project so Brent will be spending a lot of time in Irvine during the first few months of Trey Trey had a whirl wind year with a shift from TCU s recreation program to heading the City of Temple s program. In the course of those changes, Trey decided to make a career change and got on with a recruiting firm in Fort Worth. He now specializes in recruiting people for R&D in the pharmaceutical industry. He promised Brent to keep his hands off of Allergan. We are very proud of Trey and he continues to impress Brent with his thoughts on recruiting. Randy Randy Woertendyke joined New England Financial this year and has been helping the whole family with our financial planning. Connie also took a job in the office of a construction company in South Lake. She likes the people in the office and is really enjoying the work. Dianne Alice White, Tom Burnham, Doug Ingram, and Gayle Sauer at the hotel outside of London Dianne thought about retiring this year but decided to keep working a while longer. 4 TravelNews Vacation Spot: Coronado Island Brent and Dianne spent a wonderful weekend in San Diego on Coronado Island. They walked around the whole island and explored the famous hotel, The Del Coronado. Brent and Dianne could see the places where they filmed Some Like it Hot and they could almost see the ghosts of Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon. Brent wished he had his golf clubs since much of their walk took them along the island s golf course. The Brinkley Family all celebrated a special Memorial Day at the Veteran s Memorial in Andrews. Dianne s father, Lamar, was recognized for his service as a member of the 101st Airborne by an artist, Ray Simon.. Lamar is also recognized for his WWII contributions in a new book on the 101st. DestinationOrlando Orlando: Take 2 Brent and Dianne had a second visit to Orlando in November when they tacked a couple of vacation days onto one of Brent s business trips.

They had one full day in the parks and went to EPCOT, MGM, and Downtown Disney all in the same day.

5 DestinationOrlando Orlando: Take 2 Brent and Dianne had a second visit to Orlando in November when they tacked a couple of vacation days onto one of Brent s business trips. This time they stayed at the Ritz-Carleton on the first night (Brent s business meeting was held there) and then they moved to a Marriott for the rest of the trip. They had one full day in the parks and went to EPCOT, MGM, and Downtown Disney all in the same day. We had dinner at the Brown Derby at MGM and Dianne loved having the original Cobb salad as invented at the Brown Derby in Hollywood. Brent also had a taste treat during the business meeting which was hosted by Darden foods (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc.). He ate at their new concept restaurant, Seasons 52. Every item on the menu has less than 475 calories but is a gourmet taste treat. We can t wait for them to move beyond their limited locations Orlando is a favorite travel destination for the demovilles as they make the best of their Disney timeshare. This year they stayed at the Boardwalk and enjoyed a week with Reed and Anne exploring all the wonders of Disney World. It was Anne s first visit and we all shared in her surprise and joy as she discovered a new delight around every corner. Reed was chosen for several audience participation events so we saw him command a PT boat and be the sound FX man for a radio show.

6 NeighborhoodWatch Walk-in Movie Theater Dianne and Brent hosted a neighborhood event in the Spring and invited all of their neighbors to view a movie, Happy Feet, projected outside in the backyard. Popcorn was served and the event was a treat for both the kids and their parents. Due to the writer s strike, all remaining stories have been cancelled. They have been replaced with reality photos.
