1 PHONE: (972) Eugene Knies October 1, October 31, 2016 Eugene Knies of Celina, Texas passed away on October 31, 2016 at the age of 56. He was born on October 1, 1960 to Robert L. Knies, Sr. and Beverly L. Chase Knies in Gary, Indiana. Eugene grew up in Cave City, Arkansas, graduating from Cave City High School, and went on to attend the University of Arkansas. Eugene moved to Dallas in 1984 with $500 to his name to begin his career in the automotive industry. Along with partners Mark Daniels and Robert Fry, he opened the doors to Bonham Chrysler in 1994, and successfully ran that dealership, among others, until Eugene was involved in many organizations, including Future Farmers of America and Women Rock, a breast cancer awareness foundation he helped found in He was a risk taker and a joke maker who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Eugene never met a stranger and had a big heart. He was always willing to help someone in need and enjoyed donating to many charities, while never wanting the credit for his contributions. Eugene was also extremely proud of his Country and had great respect for the men and women who serve in the military. He would consistently go out of his way to thank a service man or woman in uniform when they crossed paths. Eugene is survived by his son, Matthew Knies of Houston; daughters Mandy and Paxton Knies, both of Dallas; fiancée, Kellie Cook of McKinney; brothers Rob Knies, Kenneth Knies, Keith Knies; sister Kimberly Ware; the mother of his children, Pamela Hieb Knies; and a host of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Box 572, McKinney, Texas, Memorials I just heard of this wonderful man's passing...i've cried for 2 days. He was such a giving and compassionate person with a heart bigger than Texas! He helped me and my daughter out several times when we were financially down, and while I had to take a leave from work to care for my mom who was battling cancer, again when my grandmother fell ill and again when I myself became ill. He didn't want praise for what he did to help people, only respect and love. There are no words for my gratitude of EVERYTHING he did for us and no words to express what Eugene meant to me, so I feel the lost his family and Kellie are still experiencing. I had never met anybody in our industry with the intensity that he approached every day with. it always made me smile when I would see him walking around with his basket full of keys. He helped so many people with his kindness, from dealership employees, to people in the community, to people in our Armed Services that he had never even met. The world lost a very giving man. 4 encounter was a display of intensity and passion like I had never seen at the workplace. It was quite intimidating! I continued to work for Eugene for nearly 15 years. He led by example for me and everyone that worked for him with unmatched work ethic. When I think of Eugene, I picture him on the parking lot, sweeping cigarette butts in mid July, pouring with sweat. He did this every week of every year I worked for him. However, to match the intensity, there was an extremely generous and giving side to Eugene. One employee fell ill and couldn't work. Eugene paid their bills for nearly 6 months. A group of us took Eugene to lunch for his 50th birthday. Where we ate, there was a group of mechanics from an unrelated dealership having lunch. Probably guys. Eugene picked up their bill just because they were fellow cars biz guys. We all have countless stories of his unending generosity! Eugene not only touched and changed my life, but all of Fannin County and most definitely the city of Bonham! To Eugene: I'm grateful to you for what you taught me, and I thank you for all that you gave me. I will miss you and I will pray for your family.
