Safetac technology is less painful Safetac is a patented adhesive technology that minimises pain to patients and trauma to wounds. Safetac technology is available exclusively on Molnlycke Health Care dressings, including Mepilex wound care dressings, mepitel, Mepiform and Mepitac. Safetac technology is less painful because it 11 tacks gently to dry surfaces, like skin, but not to moist surfaces, such as open wounds 6 21 moulds to the skin s pores, covering more skin surface and spreading peel forces on roval to prevent skin stripping 4 31 seals the wound margins, ensuring exudate does not spread to the surrounding skin and minimising maceration 7 BEFORE REMOVAL Roval of a hydrocolloid dressing AFTER REMOVAL DuoDERM ET A study com떠red the effects of a dressing with 5afetac technology with four commonly-used adhesive dressings on stripping of epidermal cells. The skin was stained with dye to provide an indicator of the amount of stratum corneum roved by the dressings Roval of a dressing with 5afetac technology The amount of dye raining on the skin at 72 hours was assessed - for the dressing with 5afetac technology, the 이ved part rained intact The study proved dressings with 5afetac technology are atraumatic and do not cause skin stripping'
LM없,이씨The science of Safetac technology Safetac technology s soft silicone moulds to the skin s uneven surface pores, while other adherents simply stick to the tops on the skin s surface. This moulding action is the secret to why Safetac technology is so effective at minimising pain and preventing maceration. ~~~ { Traditional adhesives are less flexible and only adhere to the top of the skin pores and therefore need to stick harder to stay in place.~... 3 Pain on dressing roval: Results from a multinational survey - /" ~
Pain and trauma at dressing roval is a commonly acknowledged issue for patients. Evaluation of trauma 0 100% In a recent study,3034 patients from 20 countries and with a variety of wound types* were interviewed. Over two visits, each patient was asked 11 the difference in pain between the advanced dressings 21 which dressing they preferred At the same time the care giver was asked to evaluate wound trauma on rova l. Wound trauma on roval evaluated by the care giver 8 = no to ve 마 slight trauma. = moderate to high trauma *Woundtypes: 31 % pressureulcer 30% leg ulcer 13% skin tear 7% diabeticfoot ulcer 4% burn 15% other Evaluation of pain ? 10 5,2 ADHESIVE FOAMS 5,1 HYDROCOLLOIDS μ6 2,2 MEPILEX WOUND DRESSINGS n = 3034 P = 0,01 Pain on roval evaluated by the patient 8 o =no pain to 10 =unbearable pain Patients prefer dressings with Safetac technology The results of the survey showed an overwhelming, statistically signifi preference for dressings with Safetac technology. 93% of patients wished to continue with the dressing with Safetac technology. Patients prefer dressings with Safetac technology because they are less painful at dressing roval B 훌중 7 쩔 r 월숱 \
Proven effectiveness and reliability Safetac technology has been tested, perfected and proven in clinical situations worldwide since 1990 The technology has seen 15 improvents in the last decade alone More than 10 million patients have benefited from Safetac technology Safetac technology since its introduction is patented and has a range of supporting literature, including more than 80 peer reviewed publications confirming its effectiveness and patient benefits
Other benefits of Safetac tech nology Dressings with Safetac technology are the preferred choice of patients and professionals alike for minimising pain and trauma at dressing changes However,Safetac technology also offers a number of other advantages that contribute to effective wound managen t: Maintains a moist wound environment Can be repositioned without Losing its /s non-sensitising and does not cause skin /s very conformable, allows easy adhesive properties reactions. Leaves no adhesive residues application on difficult-to-dress wounds Easy to use dressings simplify application procedure the 즙릎를.,/ 훌한 ~ c~
