1 Ethiopia: Dashboard Sector Response and Contextual Indicators (July 207) As of end July 207, the agriculture sector has obtained about 62% of the money requirements specified in the HRD; about 58% of households have been assisted with animal feeding and about 58% with animal health treatment, against planned. This does not include activities conducted by the Federal and the Regional Governments. In July the schools were closed. Following the cluster prioritization exercise conducted at the end of June 207, based on the Belg assessment, Displacement Tracking Matrix round 5 results, requests received by the Government and assessments conducted by cluster members, the cluster identified a total of 24,20 HH in need of shelter/nfi assistance of whom 5,432 HH live in 6 zones classified as priority (in,, and regions) and 72,769 HH live in 22 zones classified as priority 2 (in 7 regions). By the 20th of July, the cluster had reached some 50,69 households with full emergency shelter and nonfood item kits including 982 in the form of cash grants and vouchers. 200 Full kits are currently being distributed and 2,83 full kits are in planned distributions during the reporting period. In there have been delays in the Round 4 food distribution due to the large outbreak of AWD and woreda officials not allowing people to congregate in large groups for distributions. One JEOP partner has not been able to complete dispatch for Round 4 as a result of the AWD. Only this week have local authorities allowed people to assemble again as a result of the improved conditions of AWD. As a result of resourcing constrains in Round 4, WFP allocated 7,96 mt of food for million (including an estimated 76,000 drought affected IDPs and 20,500 conflict affected IDPs) of the.7 million people it has been assisting in Region since March 207. During Round 4 WFP reached 9 percent more than the planned figure due to increased need in its operational area ( Region). In addition, Rapid monitoring reports indicate that in some woredas in the Region, food was distributed to 4050 percent above planned beneficiaries during Rounds 3 and 4; further impact the nutritional situation of the vulnerable population. During the month of July, completeness and timeliness of epidemiological report suggested that, and failed to attain the 80 % minimum requirement. The overall national surveillance completeness and timeliness rate are 9.3% and 88.5 % respectively. For the routine Immunization campaigns except, and partly, the rest of the regions were able to cover the target population for polio (Penta 3) and Measles. Between January and July 207 some 75,653 children and 730,449 pregnant and lactating women were treated for moderate acute malnutrition in Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programmes in 228 P and 29 P2/P3 woredas (Govt/WFP and USAID/JEOP). There were 30,624 children newly admitted for SAM treatment in June 207 (RR 90.2% (5,88 TFP sites). This is increased by.2% from the previous month of May 30,256 with 92. RR. The June 207 admission also increased by % from the June 206 (27689, RR 87.5% (3, 998 TFP sites)). In the six month period January June 207, a total of 72,265 (RR 9.2%) children have been treated in the entire country (5,795 TFP sites). The performance indicators were: 89.6% cure rate; 0.3% death rate; 2.2% defaulter rate where the CMAM performance remains above the international standards. (SPHERE: > 75% cure, < death &< 5% Defaulter rates). The new admissions from JanuaryJune were 6 percent higher than the projected caseload for the same period, reflected in the HRD January 207 (303,000 annual). But it is lower than the January to June 206 new admission by % (73,854, RR:89% (4, 092 TFP sites)). Regionally, has shown a decrease by 5 per cent, by 0 per cent and by 9 per cent in June 207 TFP admissions. In region, Korile and Elbahay IDP sites, 246 malnutrition children were identified by mobile health teams and the Kebele administrations. Child Protection officers supported MHNT in housetohouse visits and screened children with malnutrition in the two sites. Six malnourished children (of whom four were female) were referred to health centres for additional health treatment, and 505 adults (out of which 33 female) were reached during FGM and early marriage awareness raising in both Korile and Elbahy IDP site. In order to support management of the humanitarian response in Ethiopia, sectors have identified a set of response and contextual indicators. The monthly data provided against those indicators by the sectors has been visualized in the following infographics. These visuals will help understand how the drought response is progressing and identify where issues are developing so that proactive measures can be taken.
