3 FOREWORD This is another exceptional entry of quality cattle, all mainly from holdings of birth. There are some exceptional runs of cattle from noted producers all of which can be thoroughly recommended. We will also have some fat cattle in the show and many calves with genuine potential. This year s show will be generously sponsored by Easts the butchers; Brecon, and Hay & Brecon Farmers, plus Ian Davies. We will have cash prizes, vouchers and trophies. The judge will be Mr DWL Roberts from Malthouse Farm, Cardiff. All show cattle to be penned in pens , and must be penned by 9am, ready for judging at 9.15am. Entries will be taken on the day of sale. The classes are as follows: Class 1 Best Heifer under 12 months of age Class 2 Best Steer under 12 months of age Class 3 Best Heifer over 12 months of age Class 4 Best Steer over 12 months of age Class 5 Best Animal shown by a member of YFC Overall Supreme Champion & Reserve Champion NOTICE TO VENDORS 1. All stock has to be delivered to the yard and penned before 8.30am especially cull cows. 2. The paperwork has to be put into the computer before the sale of cattle can commence and so we must have paperwork well in advance. 3. The office is open all week prior to the sale to accept paperwork and passports. 4. The draw will take place at 9am. 5. Entries for the next sale will be accepted on 28 th September onwards, however they must be in writing on that date. Following the sale they can be entered over the phone and we do ask vendors to provide as much detail as possible. 6. The gates open at 6.30am and we do ask all vendors to make the effort to arrive early. It is essential that the cattle are penned by 8.45am and the office staff must be prepared for the sale of Cull cows at 9.00am. 7. All non-tested cows and cattle to be booked in, in advance of the sale, all nontested cows & cattle are to be unloaded and penned separately in the designated area marked on the plan. If in doubt please ask before unloading. 1.

4 LOTTING OF CATTLE It is the vendors responsibility to number their cattle and this must be done correctly. If a vendor is found to have provided incorrect paperwork or to have lotted cattle incorrectly then a deduction of 15 will be made for each error in order to compensate the purchaser and payment will be withheld until the matter is resolved. We do ask every vendor to take care when numbering your stock as you are ultimately responsible and liable. NOTICE TO ALL BIDDERS If you are purchasing animals on another person s behalf, you must inform the auctioneer BEFORE the sale commences and it must be agreed with the auctioneers who the animals will go to, and who will pay for them. Purchasers should also check all passports they receive from the office at the end of the sale and any documentation. We would remind you of the conditions of sale that place responsibility for the payment on the person bidding if he had not discussed with the auctioneers the eventual purchaser. HEALTH AND SAFETY Please take care when entering the livestock area. Cattle should be considered as a potential danger and we cannot accept liability or responsibility for anyone who enters this livestock area, it is at your own risk. Please take care in the yard and pay due attention when unloading and loading stock. Can vendors inform the staff on the yard about cattle which may be a potential danger. DO NOT enter the pens to lot cattle, they should either be pre lotted or lotted from outside the pen. We do have a cattle race where cattle can be lotted if a vendor feels his cattle are potentially dangerous. CONDITIONS OF SALE The auction will be held under the general conditions of sale as laid down by the Livestock Auctioneers Association. ORDER OF SALE The order of sale will be as follows; 9.30am Cull Cows and Bulls 10.00am Breeding heifers and cows 10.15am Organic Cattle 10.30am Conventional store cattle in draw order Please note that a draw will take place for the start of the conventional store cattle at approx. 9.00am we will sell 100 lots and then return back to lot
