4 Table of Contents 4 Executive Summary- In response to these troubling trends, between January 2013 and April 2014, with financial support from DentaQuest Foundation, and facilitation from the Florida Public Health Institute (facilitator, Deitre Epps and great staff support from Christine Hom), the Oral Health Florida Leadership Council and Action Team leads developed a results-based strategic plan using the evidence-based Results-Based Accountability (RBA) framework, a highly disciplined process developed by Mark Friedman and introduced in his book, Trying Hard is Not Good Enough.

6 Result: All people in Florida have optimal oral health and well-being 6 Focus Area #1: Improved Access to Quality Oral Health Care Indicator 1.1: Percentage of Medicaid/SCHIP eligible children receiving any dental services Indicator 2.1: Total Emergency Room costs and number of visits due to preventable oral health conditions Indicator 3.1a: Percentage of Florida schools with school-based sealant pr Indicator 3.1b: Total eligible receiving a sealant on permanent molar tooth Focus Area #2: Increased Community Water Fluoridation Indicator 2.1 Percentage of population on community water systems receiving fluoridated water
7 7 Oral Health Florida Sustainability Started this meeting with about $9,000 in the bank. Florida Public Health Association is now our fiscal agent. University of Florida College of Dentistry is sponsoring website and communications. And now, for a nice surprise- HRSA funding. Change in Leadership- Tami Miller will take over as Chair of Leadership Council after today s meetings. Election of new Vice Chair at LC meeting later today.
8 8 Oral Health Florida Next Steps Leadership Council will focus on bringing in new members and organizations to OHF who can help implement and support the Road Map Leadership Council will hold several face-to-face meetings, probably with a facilitator, to determine best ways to reorganize, disposition of Action Teams, and promote widespread acceptance and implementation of the Road Map.
