2 Clever mobility for specialised needs With instrument delivery on a mobile instrument cart, Planmeca Compact c dental unit offers a flexible and functional choice for specialised needs. Manoeuvring is easy, as the extremely stable mobile cart rolls smoothly on different surfaces. The mobile cart is also available independently without chair and cuspidor to fulfil the various needs of specialised users, such as dental hospitals and implantologist clinics. Throughout their 35-year history, Planmeca has worked in close cooperation with the dental professionals in developing innovative products. 3 Visionary concept for clinical excellence Planmeca Compact c dental unit delivers the instruments on a mobile instrument cart, creating an optimal side delivery concept for specialised environments such as hospitals and oral surgery clinics. The design concept with side lifting patient chair mechanism and thorough hygiene controls efficiently promotes ergonomic and safe working methods. To maximise stability and movability, the instrument cart has a low centre of gravity. The double wheel casters roll smoothly on various surfaces, making manoeuvring very easy. The telescopic column has a wide height adjustment range that makes the unit adaptable for different sized users. The user can freely adjust the angle of each instrument holder, so that they always have the best possible ergonomic access to each instrument. The instrument cart can be equipped with up to six instruments. The left-hand position is dedicated to the syringe that can be operated simultaneously with any other instrument. The four right-hand instrument positions are universal and interchangeable, so that they can adapt any instrument from Planmeca s wide instrument range. All instrument hoses are equipped with intelligent Plug&Perform quick connectors. The users can freely position the instruments on the console in the order that best suits them. The users can benefit from operation with more than five instruments, since changing the instrument hose is extremely easy. New instruments can easily be added. The user-programmable settings are individually memorised for each hose. An optional 6 th instrument position for the Planmeca Intracam AF intraoral video camera can be added on the instrument cart. The well-thought design of the Planmeca Compact c unit helps the dental team to follow rigorous infection control procedures. All parts exposed to contamination are removable for cleaning. The uniform and smooth surfaces are easy to clean. The unit is made of corrosion-free materials, and the metal body has a resistant and hygienic epoxy paint finish. As the cover of the instrument console is seamless and the control panel has a membrane keyboard, they are effortlessly kept clean. The instrument holders can be removed for cleaning. The digital unit foot control provides easy-to-use and aseptic hands-free controls of the chair, unit, and instruments. The stable and reliable mechanical construction and the logical functionality of this digital foot control contribute to easy and intuitive use. The advanced digital control system even allows the foot control functions to be customised so that the users can create such operation logic that best suits them. The independent cart is an ideal solution for oral surgeous and other specialists. In this fine design, the mobile instrument console is connected to a special junction box, which makes the unit highly attractive to hospitals, implantologist clinics, and other specialised users. The independent cart can be complemented with Planmeca Chair or any other stand-alone patient chair. When combined with Planmeca Chair, the chair positions can be controlled through the cart. Optional Multiquick connector is available for removable cart connection; it provides further increased flexibility. The cart can be equipped with steripump system for sterile solution supply for a scaler with an external spray. The independent cart with Planmeca Chair provides the best possible set-up for specialised dental treatments. Planmeca Chair cleverly combines patient comfort and the dental team s working ergonomics. With its slim backrest and intuitive controls, the chair provides good ergonomics and supports modern, efficient treatment methods. Optionally, Planmeca Chair can be equipped with a 180-degree swivel as well as a surgical intravenous armrest. 4 5

4 Unique patient chair design The ultrathin upper part of the patient chair backrest allows the dentist and the assistant to position themselves optimally. This contributes to maintaining ergonomic working postures and ensures good, direct vision to the oral cavity. The thin backrest and the lateral patient chair lifting mechanism also provide superior legroom. The patient chair has pre-programmable chair positions, which make it easy to take the patient to the desired position. Lowering the backrest causes no pulling or pushing on the patient s back; hence there is no need to readjust their position. Thanks to the side lifting mechanism and integrated mounting, the chair has an exceptionally large vertical movement range. The lowest position (350 mm from the top of the upholstery) makes it possible for the dentist to remain seated even if the patient needs to be treated in a semi-sitting position. The highest position (810 mm) enables effortless stand-up surgery and extractions. The patient chair can be equipped with a fixed or an automatic legrest. The automatic legrest can be moved synchronously to the movements of the backrest, i.e. when you drive the backrest down, the automatic legrest is driven up. This improves patient entrance and exit and facilitates a true face-to-face positioning between the dentist and the patient. The automatic legrest and the armrests are appreciated especially by senior patients. Children and small patients benefit from a cushion set that easily adapts the patient chair for their size. These cushions can also be used to extend the legrest to provide extra support for a tall patient s legs. The chair can also be equipped with armrests (see page 8). Identify with colour Unit and upholstery colourings provide a wide selection of colour combinations which help in creating a convenient and unique treatment environment to every clinic. Whether the choice is the traditional or the upholstery, there s a colourful selection to choose from. The four colour schemes present a variety of cool, warm and fresh combinations, for an elegant, natural or exciting look. The unit colouring options are Topaz, Sapphire, Jade, Crystal, or pure white Pearl, and they can be combined with any of the selection s or upholstery colourings. The Identify with colour-scheme gives you the possibility to design a unique world of colours to welcome the patient. 6 7

These controls further extend the unit versatility. The Plus package includes: individual chair position programming for four users an advanced low-speed control for micromotor instrument power/speed limitation and programming six programmable timers. In case the unit is equipped with an optional assistant s control panel, either control panel can be used to command these enhanced Plus package features. Motorised headrest* Optionally, the unit can be equipped with a motorised headrest with movements in three dimensions. The headrest enables fully motorised movements for effortless and comfortable head positioning, and provides clear visibility into the oral cavity. An intuitive joystick ensures practical and hygienic operation. Armrests The optionally available armrests provide firm support that facilitates patient entrance and exit. The right-hand armrest is movable to further enhance easy patient access. The armrests are upholstered with the same high quality material as the patient chair. Also a surgical IV armrest is available. Planmeca Intracam AF The fully automatic, unit-integrated Planmeca Intracam AF intraoral video camera is a truly practical tool for modern dentistry. Incorporating an advanced auto focus system and a wide-ranging automatic brightness control, the camera provides sharp and bright images at first sight. In addition, the auto focus system enables viewing tooth surface details to the dental arch and even to full face with no manual controls. Image freezing, unfreezing, and saving are performed hygienically from the unit foot control, which eliminates all possible unclarity during freezing. Planmeca Delight operating light Planmeca Delight provides cool, shadowless light in optimum colour temperature, minimising eye strain and illuminating the entire operating area uniformly. The reflector is small and easy to position with one handle. The handle cover is removable for autoclaving. The user can turn the light on and off, and adjust the intensity both from the lamp handle and from the dental unit. The operating light can be programmed to be switched on and off in selected chair positions. The new operating light with a patented, faceted structure and a single LED construction provides perfect, uniform illumination for the treatment area. The ultra-sharp edges of the light beam ensure dazzle-free treatment. The faceted structure of the non-imaging mirror optics also provides uniform colour for the entire illuminated area. Planmeca SingLED operates at very low power, without compromising the light intensity. The hands-free adjustment of the light intensity ensures perfect hygiene. The operating light can be controlled using the control panel or the on/off switch, or simply by waving a hand in front of the light head whichever best suits the user s needs. In addition, the operations of the light can be pre-programmed to follow the automatic patient chair positions. The horizontal arm of Planmeca SingLED is exceptionally long, ensuring perfect illumination of the entire mandibular area. The operating light has removable and autoclavable handles on both sides. The optionally available large OP tray serves as an extra surface for carrying instruments and other accessories. Mounted on an exceptionally sturdy over-the-patient delivery arm, the tray can carry heavy loads and is especially useful for orthodontics and surgery. The OP arm moves smoothly and allows for solid height adjustment. With scratch-resistant finish, the tray and arm promote good hygiene practices. Integration of intraoral X-ray unit The Planmeca Intra intraoral X-ray unit can be mounted on the dental unit. This type of mount is highly attractive in surgeries which do not allow the X-ray unit to be ceiling or wall-mounted. The X-ray unit is within easy reach, but can also be completely stowed aside when not needed. The solid floor-mounted unit frame and the rock-steady X-ray unit arm contribute to performing easy and straightforward imaging procedures. Flat LCD monitor The unit-integrated 17 LCD monitor provides access to all clinical data at chairside. Ergonomically positioned, it provides superb brightness and a wide viewing angle, minimising eye strain. Planmeca Compact dental unit range has an advanced bi-directional interface that enables intelligent networking of treatment equipment and dental software. Together with the Planmeca Romexis Clinic Management software, PlanLink enables highly advantageous possibilities, such as, remote monitoring of the dental units, a comprehensive diagnostic log, preventive maintenance, automatic alert s, and remote software updates. Comprehensive dental software Planmeca Romexis is a complete clinical software that includes a digital dental record with embedded clinical content. It offers comprehensive functionalities for clinic management and dental imaging, including 3D imaging. With a complete set of tools for image viewing, enhancement, measurements, and annotations, Planmeca Romexis also improves the diagnostic value of radiographs.
