Dental College & Hospital, Chennai on Periodontology from 6 seats ( ) 1. Staff:- There is deficiency of one Reader in the department. 2. Publications:- Dr. Jaishree Tukaram Kshirsagar, Prof. has 15 points against the requirement of 30. And Dr. M. Jeevarekha and Dr. P. Kavitha, Readers have 10 and 2.5 points against the requirement of 20 respectively. 3. Constructed Area for PG study:- There is no Seminar Room, Patient Counseling Room and PG Common Room for PG study in the construction area. 4. Journals:- There is deficiency of books, International and National Journals in central library in speciality & related. 5. Equipments:- There are deficiencies of equipments for three units i.e. Dental Chairs 10, Table top auto clave 1, Autoclave 2, Steel bin 4, WHO Probe 3, Routine Surgical Instrument kit 2, Surgery Trolleys 8, Electro surgery unit 3, Bucks knife 3, Orban knife 3, Paquettee Blade Handle 3, Pocket Marker 3, Krane Kaplan 2, Cumine Scalar 2, Schluger Bone File 1, Bone File 1, Micro Needle Holder 2, Micro Scissor 2, Magnifying Loupe 2, Implant Surgical Kit 2, Distilled water plant 2, Ultrasonic cleaner 2, Soft tissue diode laser unit 2, Electrocautery unit 2, Mallet 3, Oschenbain Chisel Paramedical staff is deficient. 7. Only 8 ultrasonic scalers in the department (UG / PG) 8. Biometric attendance are not functional on the day of inspection. 6(32). Tamilnadu Govt. Journals:- There is deficiency of books and one International Journals in speciality & related.

Dental College, Kottayam To consider the Joint Inspection Report of the Council s Inspectors Dr. Babu G.V., Bilaspur & Dr. Virat Galhotra,Patiala to inspect and ascertain the physical facilities such as the DCI Regulations, 2006 & 2007 for starting of MDS Course in the speciality of Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry at Govt. Dental College, Kottayam on Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry ( ) 1. Publications:- Dr. Rita Zarina, Prof. & HOD and Dr. Digesh Balachandran, Reader have 7.5 points each against the requirement of 40 and 20 respectively. 2. Journals:- There is deficiency of 3 International Journals Back Volumes for 10 years. 3. Equipments:- There are deficiencies of equipments i.e. Endodontic Pressure Syringe 2, Electronic Anaesthesia Library:- Library facilities are deficient as per the Inspection Report. Report MDS Renewal 6(39). Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi To consider letter No. FDS/ /1584 dated received from the Dean & Head, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi thereby submitting compliance report on the Joint Inspection Report of the Council s Inspectors Dr. Harpreet Singh Grover, Budhera & Dr. Pratibha Anand Nayak, Jaipur to verify the achievement of annual target for renewal of the Central Government permission for 3 rd year of MDS course in the speciality of Periodontology with 2 seats at Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi for the academic session on Periodontology with 2 seats is noted and to reiterate its earlier decision of E.C Staff:- There is deficiency of Prof. & HOD since Dr. Farhan Durrani is Associate Professor with 13 years of experience. 2. Journals:- There is deficiency of 6 to 8 International and 2 to 4 national journals in speciality and related. There is deficiency of three International journals back volumes for 10 years 3. Library:- There are 18 number of Titles in Central Library against the requirement of 20 Titles which is less. 4. Equipments:- There are deficiencies of equipments i.e. Auto Clave 1, Paquettee Blade Handle 1 and Pocket Marker 1.

8 8 All the 27 Chairs were non-functional and non-installed at new building with a separate department of Periodontology was shown. 5. Post Graduate attendance not mentioned and Pre- Clinical work was found not completed for both the batches. 6(40). Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi To consider letter No. FDS/ /1585 dated received from the Dean & Head, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi thereby submitting compliance report on the Joint Inspection Report of the Council s Inspectors Dr. G.R. Rahul, Bangalore & Dr. Mrs. Aruna J. Bhandari, Loni to verify the achievement of annual target for renewal of Central Government permission for 2 nd year of MDS Course for increase of seats in the speciality of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge from 1 to 3 seats at Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi for the academic year on Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge from 1 to 3 seats is noted and to reiterate its earlier decision of E.C. 1. Staff:- There is deficiency of Prof. & Head since Dr. Atul Bhatnagar is Associate Prof. not accepted as HOD. 2. Clinical Material:- There is deficiency of clinical material since there were 26 patients on the day of inspection against the requirement of Equipments:- There are deficiencies of equipments i.e. Sterilization:- Hot Air Oven 1, Pneumatic crown remover 2, Heavy duty lathe with suction 1, Dry model trimmer 2, Die cutting machine 2, Implant micro surveyor 1, Strengthen Unit 1, Curing Pressure Pot 1, Duplicator 1, Welder 1, Model Trimmer with double disc 1, Casting Machine motor cast 1, Spot welder with soldering 1, Steam Cleaner 1, Wax heater 1, Wax Carver 1, Magnifying work lamp Infrastructure Details:- There is insufficient space in clinics, department library, PG common room, patient waiting room for constructed area for PG study. 5. Journals:- There is deficiency of 6 International Journals in speciality & related.

Awadh Dental College & Hospital, Jamshedpur To consider letter No. V.12018/1/2015-DE dated received from the Section Officer, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi thereby forwarding request letters (i) No. ADCH/F-3/15-16/304(A) dated and (ii) No. ADCH/F-3/15-16/304(B) dated from the Principal, Awadh Dental College & Hospital, Jamshedpur for appointment of Council s Inspectors for first final MDS examination in the specialities of (i) Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge with 2 seats and (ii) Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics with 2 seats in respect of MDS students of Awadh Dental College & Hospital, Jamshedpur. College Authorities be asked to furnish the following documents:- 1. Theory examination can be held for the session batch in June, 2016 and practical examination can only be held after completion of Theory Examination. 2. College authority be asked to provide the new university schedule complying with the above provisions 3. List of Students approved by the University. 4. KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode, Kerala To consider letter No. KMCT/DC/ 2016/06 dated received from the Principal, KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode thereby submitting compliance report on the Joint Inspection Report of the Council s Inspectors Dr. R.K. Singh, Lucknow & Dr. Nadesh Shetty, Mangalore for renewal of Central Government permission for admitting 4 th batch of students in MDS Course in the speciality of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with 3 seats at KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode, Kerala for the academic year on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with 3 seats 1. As per records of the office, an amount of Rs. 11,00,000/- as Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, Dental Council of India is required to be remitted towards inspection / annual fees. Note : Subject to the confirmation of the said Minutes in the next Executive Committee meeting.
