Bill Oxley and the Team at Willows Veterinary Centre & Referral Service in Solihull, were recently presented with a case requiring such a service. Since starting at Veterinary Instrumentation in April, I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about their extensive product range and my initial practice visits. I have moved into the veterinary market following a 5 year stint in human surgical sales which involved travelling around the south west, visiting hospitals and spending a large proportion of time in theatres supporting surgeons and presenting new technologies. Previously to this I completed an equine sports science degree at Hartpury UWE, so I am much happier to be spending my time in vet practices and referral centres. My role is primarily to introduce new products to practices and to keep centres up to date on new services that Veterinary Instrumentation offer. I am keen to find out and learn about current trends and developments in the veterinary industry and what Veterinary Instrumentation can do to support change and continue to develop strong relationships with our customers. I am interested in any feedback you may have (positive and negative!) to allow us improve our service and keep us at the forefront of an evolving market. A 2.7/3.5 Hybrid Locking Plate was created and a ulna roll-up technique was used to implant the plate. A 3D bone model was printed, allowing Bill to precontour the plate prior to surgery. Bill had a further case present only weeks after the initial case and we were able to modify an identical plate to the first for immediate despatch. As well as being useful for distal radial fractures in miniature and sub-miniature breeds, it has also found favour for repairing some of the smaller bones in larger patients.
